 A tudósítás szerint körülbelül 200 aktivista gyűlt össze a hálaadó akcióra. A szimpátiatüntetők a nyugati országoknak mondott köszönet után bírálták Volodimir Zelenszkij elnököt azért, mert szerintük elfogadhatatlan kijelentéseket tesz Ukrajna nyugati partnereivel kapcsolatban.
 Az Ukrinform hírügynökség szerint a tüntetés kezdetén legalább 100 ember tartózkodott a Függetlenség terén. A legtöbben különböző külföldi országok zászlóit, valamint különböző nyelvű Köszönjük! feliratú plakátokat tartottak. A résztvevők egy transzparenst bontottak ki a ThanksFriends felirattal, és számos olyan ország – Nagy-Britannia, USA, Lengyelország, Észtország, Litvánia, Lettország, Kanada, Csehország és Törökország – zászlaját vonultatták fel, amelyek Ukrajnának fegyvereket szállítottak. Ezektől az országoktól Ukrajna Javelin páncéltörő rendszereket, rakétákat, kézi lőfegyvereket, NLAW páncéltörő gránátvetőket, Bayraktar harci drónokat, Stinger hordozható légelhárító rakétarendszereket kapott.
  
 
 
 
 
 Mint Jurij Hudimenko, a Demokraticsna Szokira (Demokratikus Fejsze) nevű párt vezetője elmondta, „az esemény fő célja, hogy köszönetet mondjunk szövetségeseinknek. Szeretnénk, ha kormányaik és polgáraik tudnák, hálásak vagyunk a segítségükért és értjük annak fontosságát.”
