Az értesülést Andrej Babis cseh kormányfő megerősítette a Twitteren. Babis szerint az uniós tagállamok szerdán döntöttek erről a lépésről, a vakcinákat pedig a jövő héten szállítják ki az említett három országba. Az IHNED.cz értesülései szerint a három állam támogatását az tette lehetővé, hogy a Pfizer cégnek sikerült növelnie és meggyorsítania a vakcinák előállítását.
Az Európai Unió szolidaritásának köszönhetően a jövő héten plusz százezer Pfizer vakcinát kapunk. Ez lehetővé teszi, hogy felgyorsítsuk az oltási folyamatot, amire nagy szükségünk van – írta a cseh miniszterelnök a Twitteren, aki egyben köszönetet mondott az uniós partnereknek a szolidaritásért. Csehország a közös uniós eljárás alapján mintegy három millió Pfizer/BioNTech vakcinát rendelt. Ezen kívül Csehországban a Moderna és az AstraZeneca vakcinával oltanak. A csehek az Európai Unióban jóvá nem hagyott vakcinákat nem használják.
Csehországban eddig több mint 700 ezer személyt oltottak be koronavírus-elleni vakcinákkal. Jan Blatny egészségügyi miniszter szerint jelenleg naponta mintegy 25 ezer embert tudnak beoltani Csehországban, ezt a következő hetekben legalább napi 30 ezerre szeretnék növelni.
