A Double Diamond (dupla gyémánt) nevű juhot izgalmas licitharc után vette meg három tenyésztő, akik összeálltak, hogy megszerezzék az izmos testű, óarany szőrű állatot a csütörtökön a Glasgow melletti Lanarkban rendezett aukción.
Jeff Aiken, a három gazda egyike már hetekkel a licitálás előtt kinézte magának a „genetikailag tökéletes” Double Diamondot.
„Ugyanúgy, mint más állatok, például a lovak vagy a marhák között nagy ritkán felbukkan valami egészen különleges, ilyen volt ez a rendkívüli Texel juh. Mindenki akart belőle egy darabot.” – mondta Aiken.
A kis holland Texel-szigetről származó fajta egyedeire nagy a kereslet, rendszeresen fizetnek értük több tízezer fontot, ám a csütörtöki licitharc különösen heves volt. Amikor elkezdődött, nemcsak a három gazda, hanem más tenyésztők is csoportokat alkottak, hogy megszerezzék a bárányt, melynek eladási ára világrekordot döntött: ennél drágábban juh még nem kelt el aukción.
A korábbi csúcsot 2009-ben állították fel, akkor több mint 230 ezer fontot fizettek egy birkáért. A legtöbb pénz, amit Aiken valaha bárányért adott, 105 ezer font volt, egy Sportsman Batman nevű kost vett meg rajta.

Az öt darab nyolcasra végződő számot azért tartották szerencsésnek, mert a mandarin nyelvben a nyolcas a jólétet fejezi ki, valamint ezt a számot a gazdagsággal hozzák összefüggésbe Kínában.
A hétvégi aukción ötezren vettek részt, a győztes licitáló 2,25 millió jüant fizetett a szerencsés telefonszámért. Kínában nagy divatja van a különleges telefonszámok és rendszámtáblák vásárlásának.
A rekordok között tartják számon, hogy 2004-ben egy nyolcasokból és ötösökből álló mobilszámért több mint 190 millió forintnyi összeget fizetett ki egy vásárló. A pekingi olimpia hivatalos megnyitó ünnepségét 2008. augusztus 8-án, 8.08-kor kezdték el.
Az ötös számhoz a kínaiak a boldogságot és a gazdagságot kapcsolják, de a hatos, a nyolcas és a kilences is a szerencsés számok közé tartozik, mert azok az erőt, a gazdagságot és hosszú életet képviselik.

A lédús, magas cukortartalmáról híres fajta egy fürtjéért már tavaly is rekordárat fizettek, de az idei első árverésen ez megdőlt: 1,3 millió jent (mintegy négymillió forintot) ért meg a vevőnek a 900 grammos fürt, amelyen majdnem 30, pingponglabda méretű szőlőszem termett.
Az Isikava prefektúrában nemesített szőlő fürtjéért idén is a Hjakurakuszo cég – mely a prefektúrában három hagyományos japán fogadó, vagyis rjokan tulajdonosa – fizette a rekordárat. A vevő nevében ezúttal is egy nagykereskedő licitált a kanazavai nagybani piacon.
Szakamoto Micutaka, a cég főszakácsa azzal indokolta a hatalmas összegű vételárat, hogy bátorítani szeretnék a japán mezőgazdasági termelőket.

Az „Egy hölgy portréja” című festmény 2,5-3,5 millió fontot érhet a Sotheby’s szerint.
Anonimitását őrző jelenlegi tulajdonosa nagy haszonra tehet szert, mert ő az alkotást 2017-ben csupán 65 ezer fontért vásárolta.Korábban 139 éven át egy család gyűjteményében volt a kép, melyről akkoriban úgy vélték, hogy bár Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) flamand festő műhelyéből származik, valószínűleg egy segédje festette a mester felügyelete mellett.
„Az aukciósház szakértői azonban megtisztították a meglehetősen piszkos festményt az évszázadok alatt keletkezett lerakódásoktól. Ekkor vált láthatóvá ez a meglehetősen csodálatos Rubens-kép” – közölte Andrew Fletcher, a Sotheby’s régi mesterek festményeire szakosodott részlegének vezetője.„A valódiságát bizonyítja Fletcher szerint többek között az, hogy az alkotási folyamat során a festő többször hajtott végre változtatásokat.
Ez az egyik dolog, amely segít bizonyítani, hogy a kép eredeti, nem pedig szolgai másolat. Át van dolgozva a háttér, a nő vállait is utólag festették szélesebbre, kezénél is végrehajtott változtatásokat Rubens” – mondta Fletcher.A szakértők infravörös kamera segítségével fedezték fel az apró részleteket a képen.
Fletcher még elmondta, hogy a portrét 1902-ben még Rubens alkotásaként állították ki a londoni Royal Academyben. Ezt követően azonban valamiért feledésbe merült a festmény eredete.Forrás: origo

Történt ugyanis, hogy a munkácsi Teréz Anya Jótékonysági Alapítvány segítséget kért Matl Péter munkácsi képzőművésztől, hogy amennyiben módjában áll, támogassa a daganatos megbetegedések ellen harcoló gyermekeket. A művész úr természetesen nem késlekedett, és saját műveit felajánlva szervezett jótékonysági árverést a rászorulók számára. A jó tetthez ifj. Hidi Endre szobrászművész mellett Lembergből és Kijevből is csatlakoztak olyan képzőművészek, akik szívügyüknek érezték az effajta segítségnyújtást.
Január 4-re megközelítőleg 40 alkotás került árverésre, melyek között voltak festmények, szobrok és porcelánmunkák is. A többnapos aukció alatt eladott műalkotásokból csaknem 60 ezer hrivnya folyt be, amiért a támogatott egyesület és a szervezők is mérhetetlenül hálásak.

A rendezvény célja a kárpátaljai rákbeteg gyermekek gyógykezelésének támogatása volt.
A felhívásra, amelyet Matl Péter, szobrászművész, a Pro Arte-Munkács civil szervezet vezetője közösségi oldalán hirdetett meg, rövid idő alatt 38 felajánlás érkezett. Számos neves kárpátaljai művész ajánlotta fel műveit, köztük Glück Gábor családja is csatlakozott a kezdeményezéshez, felajánlva a néhai művész egyik grafikáját.
