Nem térhetnek vissza Észtországba azok az ottani állandó lakhellyel rendelkező orosz állampolgárok, akik az orosz oldalon vettek részt az ukrajnai harcokban – jelentette ki Veiko Kommusaar belügyminiszter-helyettes szerdán a tárca sajtószolgálata szerint.
Kommusaar szerint az észt hatóságok semmilyen korlátozást nem vezettek be az orosz állampolgárok Észtországból való kiutazására vonatkozóan, de ha kiderül, hogy azért mentek el, hogy Ukrajnában harci cselekményekben vegyenek részt, nem térhetnek vissza.
Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök szeptember 21-én rendeletet írt alá a részleges mozgósításról.
Szergej Sojgu védelmi miniszter szerint a mozgósítás során 300 ezer tartalékost hívnak be, akik kiképzésen vesznek részt, mielőtt a különleges hadműveleti övezetbe küldik őket. Hangsúlyozta, hogy a mozgósítás elsődleges célja a háború során elfoglalt területek feletti ellenőrzés.

Megérkeztek Ukrajnába az észt Themis automatizált robottankok, melyeket a Milrem Robotics gyártott. A hírt a Delfi közölte – írja a Szlovo is Gyilo.
A csatolt felvételeken látható, hogy az ukrán egészségügyi zászlóalj katonái hogyan tesztelik a páncélozott pilóta nélküli harci kocsikat egy Kijev melletti gyakorlótéren.
A Milrem a THeMIS-t egy olyan eszközként írja le, amely segít csökkenteni a frontvonalon lévők számát. Használható harci járműként és szállítóeszközkén (sebesültek és lőszerek szállítására).
Ezek a páncélozott járművek akár 20 km/ó-s sebességgel képesek haladni, és 750 kg-ot tundak szállítani. A lánctalpas gép ára 300 ezer eurótól kezdődik.

Észtország megtiltaná a fegyvertartást a területén élő orosz és fehérorosz állampolgároknak – derült ki Kaja Kallas észt kormányfő új kormányának pénteken Tallinnban aláírt koalíciós megállapodásából.
A csaknem másfélmilliós Észtország lakóinak hozzávetőleg negyede orosz anyanyelvű, sokan közülük észt állampolgársággal is rendelkeznek. A fehéroroszok száma azonban alig egy százalék.
„Az Oroszországi Föderáció és Fehéroroszország állampolgárainak kiállított fegyvertartási engedélyeket érvényteleníteni fogják, továbbiakat pedig nem fognak kiadni” – idézett az észt közszolgálati rádió a koalíciós szerződésből.
Lauris Läänemets leendő belügyminiszter megerősítette az erre vonatkozó terveket. Mint mondta, az elképzelés megvalósítása a szükséges törvénymódosítások miatt több hónapot is igénybe vehet. Az észt fegyvertulajdonosok egyesülete március elején javasolta a fegyvertartási törvény módosítását, hogy csak észtek, illetve más uniós és NATO-tagországok állampolgárai juthassanak fegyverhez, illetve lőszerhez.
Kallas pártja, a jobbközép Észt Reform Párt a szociáldemokratákkal és a nemzeti-konzervatív Haza Párttal (Pro Patria/Isamaa) állt össze miután az Észt Reform Párt és a balközép Centrum Párt koalíciója összeomlott. Kallas új kabinetje várhatóan a jövő héten kezdi meg működését.
Mindhárom balti országban számottevő orosz kisebbség él. Észtország, Lettország és Litvánia is tart a konfrontációtól Oroszországgal, különösen a február 24-én indult ukrajnai elleni orosz offenzíva után.

Nagy-Britannia további 1000 katonát és a két legújabb repülőgép-hordozójának egyikét küldi a NATO keleti szárnyának védelmére, jelentette be Ben Wallace, Nagy-Britannia védelmi minisztere a NATO-csúcson – közölte a The Guardian.
Ezeket az erőket Észtország védelmére alkalmazzák, ahol Nagy-Britanniának már körülbelül 1700 katonája teljesít szolgálatot. A brit kontingens székhelye Albion lesz, de szükség esetén készen áll a balti országok védelmére.
Nagy-Britannia újabb kötelezettségvállalásait a NATO gyors reagálási erői több mint 300 000 katonával való növelése részeként vállalja. Ezeket az erőket fokozott készültségbe helyezik arra az esetre, ha Oroszország katonai támadással fenyegetné a szövetség bármely tagját.

Észtországba, a NATO-erőket is befogadó tapai támaszpontra harcjárműveket, felszerelést és 150 katonát küldött a dán hadsereg.
Az ország legnagyobb katonai bázisának megerősítése egy nagyobb trendbe illeszkedik: Oroszország ukrajnai inváziójára reagálva a katonai szövetség erőket csoportosít át a keleti tagállamaiba.
Az orosz határtól mindössze 160 kilométerre fekvő tapai támaszponton francia és brit katonák is állomásoznak. Az itteni NATO páncélos erők parancsnoka, Simon Worth így foglalta össze egysége küldetését:
„Az a célunk, hogy demonstráljuk az elkötelezettségünket a NATO és Észtország biztonságának garantálására, és elrettentsük az agresszorokat a NATO elleni támadástól. Nagyszerű csapatom van itt, a többi NATO-egységgel együtt mindenki biztonságát őrizzük.”
Többen, köztük az EU lett származású kereskedelmi biztosa, Valdis Dombrovskis is, attól tartanak, hogy az orosz hadsereg következő célpontja Ukrajna után a Balti térség lehet. Hasonlóan vélekedik Andrus Merilo ezredes, az első észt gyalogosdandár és a tapai támaszpont parancsnoka, aki a Politico-nak nyilatkozott a héten. Az ezredes azt mondta, hogy a katonái már régóta készen állnak az orosz támadásra, aminek valós a kockázata: „Amire évtizedekig készültünk, az most már a valóság. Nincsenek már kételyek. Most jól ki kell pihennünk magunkat, ameddig még lehet.”
Merilo a baljós helyzetértékeléshez azt is hozzátette, hogy jól alszik; de nem azért, mert nem gondolná, hogy közelít a baj.

Megkezdődött a Winter Camp tréning Észtországban. A NATO téli hadgyakorlata január 29. és február 6. között tart majd Tapa városához közel, csaknem 1,4 ezer katona részvételével.
A gyakorlaton nagy-britanniai, franciaországi és észtországi katonák is részt vesznek, tüzérségi és páncéltörő gyakorlatokkal kezdik a tréninget.
A képzésen a katonai egységek harci képességeit fejlesztik majd téli körülmények között, különös figyelmet fordítva a támadó és védelmi műveletek lebonyolítására.

Otthon maradásra szólította fel a koronavírus ellen be nem oltott lakosokat csütörtökön Kaja Kallas észt miniszterelnök, a megfertőződés magas kockázatára figyelmeztetve az érintetteket.
Kijelentette, ha valaki semmilyen körülmények között nem akarja beoltatni magát, akkor inkább ne menjen sehova, ne találkozzon más emberekkel.
Ha megfertőződsz, nagyon komolyan megbetegedhetsz – figyelmeztetett sajtótájékoztatóján a kormányfő.
Az észt kórházakban jelenleg 342 koronavírussal diagnosztizált beteget ápolnak – mondta Kallas. Hozzátette, a kórházi vezetők szerint többségük az oltatlanok közül került ki. A kórházak zsúfoltsága tovább nő, így a helyzet nagyon aggasztó.
Kaja Kallas két nappal korábban azt mondta, hogy a be nem oltott lakosokra vonatkozó további korlátozásokkal elkerülhető lenne országos vesztegzár bevezetése. Irja Lutsar, az észt kormány tudományos tanácsának vezetője szintén azt mondta, szigorítani kell a be nem oltottakra vonatkozó korlátozásokat.
A mintegy 1,3 millió lakosú Észtországban eddig 723 643-an kapták meg a koronavírus elleni védőoltás mindkét adagját, további 44 ezren még csak az első oltást vették fel.
A baltimore-i Johns Hopkins Egyetem csütörtöki adatai alapján a balti államban a koronavírus-járvány tavalyi kezdete óta 168 884-en betegedtek meg, a halálos áldozatok száma 1409.
