Donald Trump támogatja a kínai tulajdonban lévő TikTok videomegosztó alkalmazás működését az Egyesült Államokban ezután is lehetővé tevő elvi megállapodást, amelyet az Oracle és a Walmart amerikai cég kötött a kínai tulajdonossal, a Bytedance-szel – közölte az amerikai elnök.
Ezt követően az amerikai kereskedelmi minisztérium bejelentette, hogy szeptember 27-ig felfüggeszti azt a pénteken kiadott rendeletet, amely vasárnapi hatállyal megtiltotta az Egyesült Államokban a TikTok letöltését az Apple és a Google felületeiről.
A tiltást az amerikai hatóságok azzal indokolták, hogy a Kínai Kommunista Párt nyilvánvalóvá tette, hogy módjában, illetve szándékában is áll felhasználni az alkalmazást az Egyesült Államok nemzetbiztonságának, külpolitikájának és gazdaságának veszélyeztetésére.
A TikTokot mintegy százmillió amerikai használja, világszerte pedig 2,2 milliárd felhasználója van. Egy tájékozott forrás szerint a haladék lehetőséget ad a három cégnek, hogy TikTok Global néven olyan vállalatot hozzanak létre, amely az amerikai kormányzati aggályok orvoslásával irányíthatja a videomegosztó működését az Egyesült Államokban.
Donald Trump arról beszélt a Fehér Házban, hogy az Oracle és a Walmart teljesen az ellenőrzése alatt tartja majd a TikTok Global működését, százszázalékos biztonság mellett, és a vállalkozás 25 ezer amerikait foglalkoztat majd Texas államban.

A TikTok amerikai részlegét a Twitter nevű közösségi oldal vásárolhatja meg, pedig nemrég még arról volt szó, hogy a Microsoft már célegyenesben van és hamarosan lezárhatja az akvizíciót. Amennyiben a Twitter lesz a vásárló, a Facebook és a tulajdonában lévő Instagram egy erős riválist kap – amit egyébként is régóta szorgalmaznak az amerikai döntéshozók.
Donald Trump amerikai elnök augusztus 6-án írta alá azt a rendeletet, amely 45 nap múlva betiltja a TikTok nevű alkalmazást az országban, vagyis ennyi ideje van a cégeknek arra, hogy megállapodjanak a TikTok anyavállalatával, a kínai ByteDance-szel egy esetleges felvásárlásról.
A TikTok a feltételezések szerint komoly nemzetbiztonsági kockázatot rejt azzal, hogy személyes információkat és különböző adatokat gyűjt az amerikai felhasználókról Kína számára.
A TikTok anyacége már jelezte, hogy bíróság elé fogják vinni az ügyet, azonban úgy tűnik, a döntés már végleges, így hamarosan megoldást kell találniuk a problémára, különben 100 millió felhasználót veszít egy szempillantás alatt az alkalmazás, a távozó tinik pedig valószínűleg egy konkurens platformot erősítenek majd.
A Wall Street Journal szerint a Twitter érkezése ellenére továbbra is a Microsoft tűnik a legesélyesebbnek a TikTok megszerzésére. Azonban az újság kiemeli, hogy sokkal kisebb felügyeleti nyomás lenne egy esetleges Twitter-TikTok házasságon, mint ha a Microsoft veszi meg a cég amerikai részlegét.
Viszont a Twitter nem rendelkezik annyi pénzel, mint a Microsoft, hiszen egy sokkal kisebb vállalatról van szó.
A Microsoft ráadásul előrehaladott tárgyalásokat folytat, a vállalat szerint szeptember 15-ig meg lesz a megállapodás, amelynek értelmében hozzájuk kerül a TikTok észak-amerikai, ausztrál és új-zélandi részlege.
Érdemes figyelembe venni azt is, hogy jelenleg a TikTok a Facebook legnagyobb ellenfele a közösségi média piacon, míg a Twitter csak jócskán lemaradva követi őket. Azonban egy esetleges TikTok-Twitter összeolvadás – ha nem is azonos méretű -, de méltó ellenfelet hozna létre a közösségi oldalak versenyében, ez pedig vonzó feltevés lehet a törvényalkotók számára, akik már régóta kifogásolják a Facebook monopolhelyzetét.

Az Instagram még 2019-ben ismertette a Reels nevű fejlesztését – a rövid videók készítésére alkalmas funkciót először Brazíliában kezdték el tesztelni, majd június közepén bejelentették: a francia és a német felhasználók is kipróbálhatják.
Alapvetően az, hogy egy szolgáltatás lemásolja egy másik funkcióit, nem ritkaság. A Reels jelenléte azonban akkor kezdett el igazán izgalmassá válni, amikor nyilvánvalóvá vált: az Egyesült Államok be akarja tiltani a TikTokot. Ennek eredményeként július közepén be is jelentette az Instagram, hogy heteken belül érkezhet a saját TikTokja.
Az Instagram bejelentette: 50 országban, köztük az Egyesült Államokban, az Egyesült Királyságban, Franciaországban, Japánban és Ausztráliában is elérhetővé teszik a felhasználók számára a Reels nevű funkciót.
A legfeljebb 15 másodperces bejegyzéseket ugyanúgy lehet létrehozni, ahogy azt az instagramos sztoriknál már megszokhattuk, ám a szerkesztői eszközök jóval kifinomultabbak lettek: nemcsak zenéket adhatnak hozzá a felhasználók a klipekhez, de le is lassíthatják, vagy felgyorsíthatják azokat, így téve hasonlóvá a végeredményt, mint amit a kínai alkalmazásban megszokhattunk.
A másik nagy különbség a sztorikhoz képest a megosztásban rejlik. A Reels segítségével gyártott klipeket egy külön fül alatt találhatják majd meg a felhasználók a Felfedezés menüpont alatt, de akár a saját hírfolyamukba is kitehetik azt.
Hogy mennyire fog beválni a felhasználóknak az újdonság, azt egyelőre nem tudni, ahogy azt sem, átpártolnak-e az amerikai júzerek az Instagram újdonságához azok után, hogy Donald Trumpék be akarják tiltani a konkurenciát. És persze az sem tisztázott, mi lesz akkor, ha a Microsoft felvásárolja a TikTok amerikai részlegét, hiszen ebben az esetben mégsem tiltják majd be azt a tengerentúlon.
