Aszteroida csapódhat a Földbe 2046-ban, számították ki a NASA tudósai. A kisbolygót csak most sikerült detektálnia a szakembereknek.
A 2023DW nevű aszteroidának 1 a 625-höz az esélye, hogy becsapódik a bolygónkba. Ez laikusoknak nem tűnik soknak, statisztikailag azonban igen nagy a becsapódás esélye, mondják a csillagászok.
A kisbolygó nagyjából 50 méter hosszú, vagyis akkora, mint egy olimpiai úszómedence. Ha becsapódna, komoly károkat tudna okozni.
Az aszteroida pontos alakja nem ismert, és pályája is bizonytalan, így valószínűleg elhalad mellettünk, a tudósok azonban minden lehetőséget számba vesznek, és folyamatosan nyomon követik a mozgását.
