A kifizetésről a Twitter és Musk közötti pereskedésen esett szó a szeptember 6-i meghallgatáson, amely a vállalat 44 milliárd dolláros megvásárlására tett kísérletei miatt zajlik a Twitter és Elon Musk között.
„7 millió dollárt fizetnek a fickónak, hogy biztosítsák a hallgatását” – mondta Alex Spiro, Musk ügyvédje a meghallgatáson. Az ügyet ismerő személyek megerősítették, hogy az utalás a bejelentő Peiter Zatko számára megtörtént.

Kártérítést fizetett a Twitter
A Bloomberg szerint a kifizetés egy olyan egyezség része volt, amely szerint Zatkónak a pénz egy elmaradt kártérítés miatt járt, miután elhagyta a Twittert.
