A The Washington Post amerikai napilap tudósítói irodát nyit Ukrajnában, az új központot, amelynek a székhelye Kijevben lesz, Isabelle Khurshudyan vezeti majd, a fő tudósítói posztját pedig Max Bearak tölti be – adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál szerdán az amerikai újságra hivatkozva.
A lap közleménye szerint ez a lépés jelzi a The Washington Post hosszú távú elkötelezettségét az Oroszország Ukrajna elleni háborújáról történő tudósítás mellett, mivel ez lesz az idei év fő története.
Khurshudyan, az amerikai lap moszkvai irodájának egykori tudósítója január óta Ukrajnából jelent, míg Max Bearak, a nairobi iroda korábbi vezetője pedig két hónapja dolgozik Ukrajnában. Ők fogják irányítani a David Stern ukrán tudósítóból, valamint riporterekből, fotósokból és videós újságírókból álló csapatot.
