November 21-e a méltóság és szabadság napja Ukrajnában. Ezt a szomorú ünnepet 10 évvel ezelőtt hozták létre, amikor a diákok a fővárosi Majdanra vonultak. Erejüket és életüket nem kímélve harcoltak a jogaikért és a lehetőségért, hogy egy európai országban élhessenek. Ezen az emlékezetes napon az emberek fejet hajtanak az elesett hősök emléke előtt. A diákok, akik mindig is a változások mozgatórugói voltak, a háborúval párhuzamot vonva tisztelegnek az ukránok előtt, akik tisztességes életért harcolnak egy szabad államban és készen állnak a harc folytatására. Emlékezni, tisztelni, megbecsülni. Ezek nem csak szavak, hanem iránymutatás minden generáció számára. Sőt, ez kötelező minden ukrán állampolgár számára, aki kiáll a civilizáció és a fejlődés mellett, ugyanakkor nem felejti el győzelmünk árát sem.
Az ukránok készek mindenüket odaadni azért, hogy az ukrán katona méltóságteljesen nézzen ki, harcoljon és győzzön – jelentette ki hétfőn Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök a méltóság és szabadság napja alkalmából mondott videoköszöntőjében, adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint az elnök elmondta: „mindenki látta, milyen embereink vannak! Készek az utolsót adni. Készek kitartani a végsőkig. Nem veszítettük el a méltóságunkat. Bátorságunkat. Az önmagunkba vetett hitet. És egyesültek. Hogy ne veszítsük el az akaratunkat. Ne veszítsük el a függetlenségünket. Hogy ne veszítsük el Ukrajnát. Lehet, hogy elfogy a pénzünk. Nincs gáz. Nincs meleg víz. Nincs világítás. De nem vagyunk akarat nélkül. És ez így is marad.”
Az államfő felidézte a tavalyi méltóság és szabadság napján mondott beszédét, amelyben azt mondta, hogy az ukránok nagyon magas árat fizettek és fizetnek a szabadságért. Leszögezte: soha nem felejtjük el azokat, akik életüket adták Ukrajnáért, és soha nem bocsátunk meg azoknak, akik az életüket elvették, és meg akartak fosztani minket a szabadságunktól. „Azóta sok minden megváltozott – bombatölcsérek jelentek meg Ukrajna földjén, úttorlaszok és tankcsapdák a városokban és falvakban. Sötét van az utcákon, hideg a házakban” – tette hozzá.
„Sok változás van, de a legfontosabb nem változott. Mert a legfontosabb nem kívülről, hanem belülről jön. És ez így is marad. És ezért mindent ki fogunk bírni. Ki fogunk tartani” – mutatott rá Volodimir Zelenszkij.
