 Az AMA igazgatósága megszavazta azt a javaslatot, amely értelmében az Egyesült Államok legnagyobb, 240 ezer tagot számláló orvosszövetsége lobbizni fog azért, hogy a születési bizonyítványból eltöröljék a nemek megjelölését. Ennek értelmében a születési nemet már csak adatgyűjtés céljából rögzítik, de az információ nem lesz nyilvános, a hivatalos papíron nem fog szerepelni.
 
 Ezzel az AMA szerint elérhetik, hogy a gyermeket kevesebb diszkrimináció érje fiatal korában és felnőttként egyaránt, hiszen saját maga dönthet arról, hogy melyik nemhez szeretne tartozni.
 Megdöbbentő, hogy éppen az amerikai orvosszövetség dönt úgy, hogy figyelmen kívül hagyja a biológiát és beáll az LMBTQ-propaganda által kijelölt sorba.
 „Jelenleg csak 10 állam engedélyezi a nemsemleges megjelölést a hivatalos dokumentumokon (…) A már létező AMA szabályzat elismeri, hogy minden egyénnek joga van eldöntenie, hogy milyen nemhez tartozik, valamint milyen a szexuális irányultsága. Az egyének magánélethez való joga és a diszkrimináció elkerülése érdekében az Egyesült Államokban el kell távolítani a nemeket a születési bizonyítványból” – áll a szervezet közleményében, amely egyébként néhány hónapja azzal került a hírekbe, hogy támogatják a kiskorúak nemváltását.
