Áprilisban, az első próbálkozás során már néhány perc után megsemmisült az űrhajó, ami ezúttal már elérte a világűr határát, ám már a gyorsítórakéta leválásakor is kiderült, most sem lesz zökkenőmentes az út – írja a CNA.
A Starbase kilövőállomásról indított rakétahordozó első fokozata ugyan levált, ám nem sokkal később felrobbant. Ezt követően a Starship folytatta útját a kozmosz felé, ám tíz perccel később a küldetésirányítók elvesztették a kapcsolatot a második fokozattal.
A tesztrepülés fő célja az volt, hogy a Starship felemelkedjen és Föld körüli pályára álljon. Ez kulcsfontosságú lépést jelentett volna a SpaceX számára, melynek célja, hogy olyan többcélú űreszközt hozzon létre, amely embereket és rakományt küldhessen a Holdra és a Marsa egyaránt.
Elon Musk abban bízik, hogy a Super Heavy rakéta rövidesen felválthatja a Falcon 9-et, amely nem csupán műholdakat, de embereket is az űrbe juttathat majd. A SpaceX szoros együttműködésben van a NASA-val, amely szintén igénybe veszi Musk vállalatának szolgáltatásait.

Szerdán hivatalosan is közölte az amerikai Szövetségi Légügyi Hivatal, hogy a SpaceX még nem kapta meg a szükséges engedélyeket a Starship újabb tesztrepülésére. Elon Musk viszont már türelmetlenül várja a fejleményeket.
A SpaceX vezérigazgatója kedden az X-en közölte, hogy a „Starship készen áll az indításra”, ám még meg kell várniuk a Szövetségi Légügyi Hivatal engedélyét. A milliárdos amerikai üzletember egy videót is posztolt a kilövőállásról.
A tavaly szeptemberi hajtóműteszt még sikeres volt, ám az áprilisi felszállás kudarcba fulladt, miután alig négy perccel a fellövést követően felrobbant a rakétarendszer. Azóta pedig a SpaceX nem teljesítette a hivatal követelményeit az újabb teszthez– írta meg az NBC.
A legutóbbi próbakilövés ráadásul komoly környezeti károkat okozott, és már az indítás is súlyos törmelékeket repített nagy távolságokba, valamint egy többhektáros tüzet okozott a közeli nemzeti park területén.
Emiatt végül a környezetvédők perre mentek, keresetükben pedig azt követelték, hogy szigorítsanak az engedélyeztetéseken, ugyanis az elmúlt években legalább kilenc, a környezetet veszélyeztető kilövés történt.
