 Az ukrán védelmi kiadásokra beszedett adó tavaly 28,6 milliárd hrivnya (egymilliárd dollár) bevételt hozott, de egy olyan alapba folyik, amelyről „lehetetlen” ellenőrizni, valóban a hadseregre költik-e – idézett a Bloomberg egy pénzügyminisztériumi szóvivőt.
 A költségvetés védelmi beszerzésekre 23 milliárd hrivnyát költött tavaly (838 millió dollár). Ez ugyan idén 28 milliárdra emelkedik, de a töredéke annak, amit az oroszok költenek katonai beszerzésekre: a 60 milliárd dollárt is meghaladó védelmi költségvetés mintegy 40 százalékát.
 Eközben a honvédelmet bénító korrupcióval sem sikerült leszámolni. Az orosz csapatok már felsorakoztak a határ mentén, mikor decemberben a honvédelmi minisztérium előállt 2022-es bevásárlólistájával, amelyen nem volt elegendő golyóálló mellény, miközben méregdrága ostyatörölközőket terveztek rendelni – idézte a Bloomberg Szerhij Rahmanyin ellenzéki parlamenti képviselőt.
