Carlo Chatrian berlini művészeti igazgató azt mondta: „Ez egy nagyon nehéz körülmények között készült dokumentumfilm, de egyben olyan film is, amely a művészet és a művészek szerepéről szól a nehéz időkben”.
Novemberben Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnök harmadik alkalommal fogadta Sean Penn amerikai színészt Kijevben. A látogatásról az államfő egy videót is közzétett, amely szerinte igen különlegesre sikeredett. A színész ugyanis magával vitte az Oscar-díját, amit egészen addig Ukrajnában is hagy – mint az ország győzelmébe vetett hitének szimbólumát –, amíg a háború véget nem ér. Sean Penn megkapta az ukrán harmadfokú érdemrendet az elnöktől.

A közlés szerint Sean Penn az Oroszország által indított ukrajnai háború februári kezdete óta már harmadjára látogatott Ukrajnába. „Ezúttal különleges volt a találkozásunk. Sean az országunk győzelmébe vetett hit jelképeként magával hozta az Oscar-szobrát, amely Ukrajnában marad a háború végéig” – mondta el Zelenszkij.
Az ukrán elnök átadta az amerikai színésznek a Szolgálatért elnevezésű állami érdemrend III. fokozatát, és megköszönte neki őszinte támogatását és jelentős hozzájárulását Ukrajna népszerűsítéséhez a világban.
Az elnöki irodából Zelenszkij és Penn kimentek Kijevben a Bátorság Fasorra, ahol Sean Penn névtáblája található.
A 62 éves Sean Penn kétszeres Oscar-díjas. Első Oscar-díját színészi alakításáért a 2003-ban bemutatott Titokzatos folyó című filmért kapta, a másodikat a 2008-as Milk című film főszereplőjeként nyerte el. Az nem derült ki, hogy az elnyert két Oscar-szobor közül melyiket hagyta a fővárosban.
