A legnépszerűbb indiai látványosság, a szerelem szimbólumának számító Tádzs Mahal mását építtette meg feleségének szerelme jeléül egy indiai férfi.
Az eredeti Tádzs Mahal 1632 és 1653 között épült az indiai Agrában, a Dzsamna (Jamuna) folyó partján fehér márványból, a mauzóleumot Sáh Dzsahán mogul sah építtette felesége, Mumtáz Mahal emlékére. A „paloták koronája” – a mogul építészet gyöngyszeme – valójában egy épületkomplexum, amelynek része a fehér síremlék is. 1983 óta szerepel az UNESCO világörökségi listáján, 2007-ben a világ hét új csodája közé választották.
Az eredeti márvány palota méretének egyharmadára kicsinyített épülettel a férfi a szerelem, a harmónia és a büszkeség érzését kívánta közvetíteni a közép-indiai Burhanpur városban, ahol Mumtáz Mahal elhunyt. Sáh Dzsahán mogul sah legkedvesebb felesége, élete szerelme volt Mumtáz Mahal, aki 14. gyereke szülése közben vesztette életét.
A kicsinyített verziót megépíttető férfi felesége azonban él, férjével együtt lakik a kis palotában, amelyben négy hálószoba, egy meditációs szoba és egy könyvtár kapott helyet – írta az India Today című lap. A New Indian Press szerint a férfi építtetett már kórházat és egy iskolát is.
A márványépület olyanokat csábít a városba, akik az eredeti Tádzs Mahalnak otthont adó, 800 kilométerrel távolabbi Agrába nem tudnak elutazni. Esküvői fotózások hátteréül is szívesen használják a házat.

A bíróság arra a következtetésre jutott, hogy a fehér márványból és más anyagokból készült épület színe a légszennyezés, építési munkálatok és rovarirtószerek hatására vesz fel sárgás-barnás-zöldes elszíneződést.
