Космічний корабель VSS Unity компанії SpaceShipTwo провів 22 травня свій третій випробувальний політ у суборбітальний космос, зробивши ще один крок до початку комерційних операцій.
Перші два космічні польоти Unity відбулись у грудні 2018 року та лютому 2019 року. Обидві ці місії були зняті з повітряно-космічного порту Мохаве на південному сході Каліфорнії, недалеко від штаб-квартири дочірньої компанії Virgin Galactic – The Spaceship Company.
Але сьогоднішній рейс злетів із комерційного центру Virgin Galactic – „Космічний порт Америка” в Нью-Мексико. Virgin Galactic ознаменувала цю віху, встановивши знаменитий символ сонця Зія на зовнішній стороні корабля та помістивши на борт космічного літака кілька зелених насіння чилі.
