 Az Egyesült Államokban Maryland állam – követve más államok példáját – megtiltotta a TikTok közösségi oldal és egyéb kínai, valamint orosz internetes felületek használatát az állam kormányzati intézményeiben.
 Larry Hogan kormányzó kedden közölte, hogy a felhasználások elfogadhatatlan kíberbiztonsági kockázatot jelentenek az államra. Az intézkedést egy rendkívüli sürgősségi határozat keretében hozta meg, amely szerint az érintett internetes platformok terei lehetnek internetes kémkedésnek, kormányzati intézmények megfigyelésének, valamint érzékeny személyes információk nem megfelelő gyűjtésének.
 A republikánus kormányzó utasításában felszólította az intézményeket arra, hogy tegyék lehetetlenné a megtiltott alkalmazások letöltését az állam végrehajtó szerveinek teljes informatikai hálózatán.
 Kedden Wisconsin állam republikánus kongresszusi képviselői nemzetbiztonsági kockázatra hivatkozva arra szólították fel államuk demokrata kormányzóját, hogy a TikTok videóalkalmazást töröltesse minden állami kormányzati eszközről.
 Hétfőn Dél-Karolina állam kormányzója intézkedett a kínai alapítású videómegosztó-alkalmazás törléséről az állami kormányzat eszközeiről, egy hete pedig Dél-Dakota ugyancsak republikánus vezetője tiltotta meg minden állami alkalmazottnak, valamint szerződéses dolgozónak, hogy állami eszközön használja a TikTokot.

 Elérhetetlenné vált péntek hajnalban több román állami és pénzügyi intézmény honlapja az ellenük indított, szolgáltatásmegtagadást előidéző (túlterheléses) kibertámadás miatt – közölte a román kormány.
 Egyebek mellett a kormány (gov.ro), a védelmi minisztérium (mapn.ro), a határrendészet (politiadefrontiera.ro) és az állami vasúttársaság (cfrcalatori.ro) honlapját támadták a hackerek.
A kormányzati szervek IT-szakemberei együttműködnek az illetékes kibervédelmi intézmények szakértőivel a hozzáférés helyreállítása és az okok azonosítása érdekében – közölte a bukaresti kormány.
A gov.ro kormányzati portál elérhetőségét a közlemény kiadása előtt helyreállították.
A védelmi minisztérium közleménye szerint a támadás csak a mapn.ro nyilvános honlapot bénította le, amelyen nem tárolnak titkos adatokat. A támadás nem érintette a védelmi minisztérium informatikai hálózatait.
