Ukrajnában csak most kezdődik a koronavírus-járvány első hulláma, mert az országban korábban gyakorlatilag nem volt első hullám – jelentette ki Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök egy televíziós interjúban, adta hírül szombaton az Ukrajinszka Pravda hírportál.
Az Ukrajina 24 tévécsatorna péntek esti műsorában Zelenszkij kifejtette: az európai államok többsége – Olaszország, Anglia, a balti országok – gratuláltak Ukrajnának, amikor leverte az első hullámot. Azonban Ukrajnában valójában nem is volt első hullám, hanem most van, mert most növekszik a fertőzöttek száma – tette hozzá.
Az elnök kiemelte: most van a hullám, ami a fertőzöttek számának napi növekedésében nyilvánul meg. „Az első hullámot egyszerűen levertük, Ukrajnában nem is volt hullám abban az időszakban, amikor Európában, azzal együtt, hogy fogadtuk a hazatérő ukránokat” – emelte ki.
Zelenszkij hangoztatta, hogy Ukrajna jól felkészült a koronavírus-járvány lehetséges második hullámára, de az egészségügyi rendszer nem bírja ki, ha ez a hullám nagyon erős lesz. „Tényleg nagyon erősek vagyunk ebben a tekintetben, ami a kórházi ágyakat, felszereléseket, tesztkészletek mennyiségét, a technikai felkészültséget és a szakembereket illeti” – mutatott rá, megjegyezve, hogy sem a kórházi ágyak száma nem lesz elegendő, és különösen nem lesz elegendő számú szakember, ha a második hullám nagyon erős lesz. „Ha az orvosaink nem birkóznak meg a feladattal, nálunk is az lesz, ami Olaszországban volt” – vélekedett az államfő.
