Carlo Gubellini, az olaszországi Castenazo város polgármestere megtiltotta a helyi fodrászoknak, hogy kétszer mossák meg ügyfeleik haját, sőt, 500 eurós bírságot vezetett be a szabálysértőkre.
A polgármester elmondása szerint erre a lépésre a térségben az elmúlt évtizedek egyik legerősebb aszálya miatt kényszerült, hogy takarékoskodjanak a vízzel – számolt be a The Guardian. Elmondása szerint több ezer liter vizet használnak el feleslegesen azzal, hogy kétszer mossák meg az ügyfelek haját. Egyben felhívta a figyelmet arra, hogy Castenazo kormányzati kézikönyvének adatai szerint egy nyitott csapból percenként 13 liter víz folyik, a haj dupla öblítéséhez pedig legalább 20 literre van szükség. Castenazo kis város, így elképzelhető, mit jelent ez a nagyvárosok vízfogyasztása terén – mondta a polgármester.
Gubellini ugyanakkor megjegyezte, hogy ez a tilalom szeptemberig lesz érvényben. A fodrászok a maguk részéről elmondták, értelmetlen a polgármester rendelete, hiszen egyes kozmetikumok használatához alapos hajmosásra van szükség.
Az aszály miatt országszerte vízfogyasztási korlátozásokat vezettek be. Milánóban, Olaszország leggazdagabb városában Giuseppe Salo polgármester elrendelte a város szökőkútjainak leállítását, Mario Delpini milánói érsek pedig zarándokutat szervezett a külvárosi templomokba, hogy esőért imádkozhassanak.
