Az Ukrajna elleni orosz inváziójának kezdete óta a brit fegyveres erők különleges egysége most kezdte el első ízben kiképezni Kijevben az ukrán katonákat a brit NLAW páncéltörő rakétarendszerek használatára – adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál szombaton a The Times című brit lapra hivatkozva.
Az újság azt írta, hogy a Kijevben és környékén állomásozó két ukrán zászlóalj tisztjei elmondták, hogy katonai kiképzést kaptak a brit különleges erők munkatársaitól a múlt héten és egy héttel korábban. Jurij Mironenko százados, akinek zászlóalja Obolony kerületben állomásozik, elmondta, hogy a brit kiképzők azért érkeztek, hogy az újoncokat és a hazatérő önkénteseket az NLAW páncéltörő rakéták használatára oktassák.
Az ukrán különleges egység Szkíta fedőnevű parancsnoka elmondta, hogy a múlt héten a 112. zászlóalj is kiképzést kapott. Ezt az információt a parancsnok felettese is megerősítette. „Remek srácok a britek. Meghívtak minket, hogy látogassuk meg őket, amikor véget ért a háború” – tette hozzá a Medve” fedőnevű parancsnok.
A hírportál emlékeztetett arra, hogy brit katonai kiképzőket először a Krím orosz lerohanása után küldtek Ukrajnába. 2022 februárjában elhagyták Ukrajnát, hogy elkerüljék a közvetlen konfliktust az orosz csapatokkal és a NATO háborúban való részvételének lehetőségét.
