Великобританія не буде автоматично депортувати громадян Європейського союзу, які не подали заявку на право залишитися в країні після виходу зі складу ЄС (Brexit). Про це заявив координатор Європейського парламенту з питань Brexit Гай Верхофстадт, повідомляє Reuters.
За словами Верхофстадта, міністр Великобританії за Brexit Стівен Барклі під час зустрічі з ним заявив, що для таких громадян ЄС буде встановлено термін до червня 2021 року.
„Автоматичної депортації не буде. Після пільгового періоду у них буде можливість подати заявку, пояснюючи, чому це було неможливо зробити в рамках звичайних процедур”, – заявив Верхофстадт.
Нагадаємо, 31 січня Великобританія повинна покинути Європейський союз.
