A tudósítás szerint Klicsko több kísérletet tett arra, hogy helyesen nevezze meg a következő évnek a számát, amelyet hamarosan az egész világ köszönteni fog. A bakizás terén a nem éppen ékesszólásáról elhíresült Viktor Janukovics elmenekült elnököt is leköröző városvezetőnek azonban véletlenül sem sikerült eltalálnia a helyes évszámot.
Mint a polgármester köszöntőjében mondta, „jó hangulatban köszöntjük a kétezer kétszáz húszas (zavarszünet), kétezer kétszáz huszonkettes évet.”
Klicsko legutóbb december 5-én örvendeztette meg az ukrán főváros közönségét a retorikai gyöngyszemmel, miszerint a köztisztasági dolgozók a télen „hóval fogják szórni” az utakat.
