Az ukrán elnök kitüntetett egy kutyát: Patron, a terrier életeket ment. A hároméves bombakereső terrier eddig több mint 200 robbanószerkezetet szimatolt ki – írja a New York Times.
Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnök minden este azzal zárja szokásos háborús beszédét, hogy bejelenti az ukrán katonáknak járó állami kitüntetéseket. Vasárnap este az ország feltehetően legapróbb harcosa is a felsoroltak közé került, hisz Patron, a bombakereső kiskutya is – akinek a neve ukránul lőszert jelent – kitüntetésben részesült.
Az északkeleti Csernyihiv városában bevetésen lévő Patront a gazdája, a polgári védelmi szolgálat munkatársa képezte ki a pirotechnikai munkára. A terriert az Ukrán Állami Mentőszolgálat Facebookra feltöltött videói tették népszerűvé, több mint 250 ezren látták már, ahogy felveszi a tűzszerész mellényét és egy katona ölébe bújik, de készült róla lassan 900 ezer megtekintésnél járó felvétel bevetés közben is.
A kiskutya elismerése egy újabb ügyes húzása az ukrán háborús kommunikációs stratégiának. A négylábú életmentő a gyerekek körében is igen népszerű, sőt, rajongói különböző alkotásokkal tisztelegnek Patron előtt. A kutya segítségével az aknák veszélyeire is felhívják a csernihivi lakosság figyelmét, a visszavonuló orosz erők nehezen észrevehető robbanószereket hagytak országszerte.
