Beszámolójában az MTI megjegyzi: a Chicago Bulls egykori játékosa, egyben olimpiai bajnok a most elárverezett „Bred” Air Jordan 13 fantázianevű cipőjét az 1998-as NBA-döntő második találkozóján viselte. A Bulls a finálét megnyerte, Jordan pedig így hatszoros bajnok lett az észak-amerikai profiligában.
A BBC megjegyzi: a meccs után Jordan a cipőit az egyik labdaszedő fiúnak ajándékozta, aki az öltözőben segített neki megtalálni a kabátját.
Jordannek nem ez volt az első cipője, ami kalapács alá került. 2021-ben az általa viselt Nike Air Ships 1,47 millió dollárért kelt el egy árverésen.

Akár egymillió fontért is elkelhet egy Charles Darwin angol természettudós által írt és dedikált kézirat a Sotheby’s aukciósház New York-i árverésén.
A sokat megélt dokumentum több szempontból is különleges ereklyének számít. Darwin kézirataiból ugyanis kevés maradt meg, a tudós nem őrizte meg papírra vetett gondolatait, s még ritkábban írta ki teljes nevét aláíráskor: általában rövidítve, csak a C Darwin vagy Ch Darwin szignót használta – írja a BBC hírportálja.
A szóban forgó papír szövegét a 19. század Angliájában népszerű, The Autographic Mirror című magazin felkérésére írta meg a tudós. Hermann Kindt, az újság kiadója híres emberek életrajzát aláírásukkal kiegészítve közölte a magazin számaiban.
Darwin kapva kapott a felkérésen, s röviden összefoglalta az akkor még sok kételkedést kiváltó elméletét az evolúcióról és a természetes kiválasztódásról. A Szingapúri Nemzeti Egyetem BBC-nek nyilatkozó oktatója szerint emiatt igazán egyedülállónak számít Darwin szóban forgó hagyatéka.
Mint azt John van Wyhe elmagyarázta, a kiválasztott szöveg a természettudós A fajok eredete című kötetének harmadik kiadásából származik, s Newton példáján át bizonyítja saját elméletének hitelességét.
„(A szövegben) arra próbál utalni, hogy jóllehet az emberek először hihetetlennek és különösnek találják elméletét, ám ugyanígy fogadták Newtonét a gravitációról, és immár senki sem vonja kétségbe a tömegvonzás létezését” – nyilatkozott a BBC-nek John van Wyle, aki egyúttal a Darwin Online nevű internetes tudományos gyűjtemény kurátora is.
A szövegben Darwin elismerte, hogy az elmélettel nem adott magyarázatot az élet eredetére, azonban, mint az a kéziratban is olvasható, ez a kérdés nem vonja kétségbe elmélete érvényességét.
A Sotheby’s eddig 400 ezer fonttal tartja a Darwin-kéziratok leütési árának rekordját, az 1865-ös kézirat a péntektől december 9-ig tartó online árverésen azonban ezen összeg többszöröséért kelhet el.

A második világháborúban húsz ejtőernyős bevetésen részt vevő kutya bátorságért elnyert kitüntetései 140 ezer fontért találtak új gazdára.
A The Guardian beszámolója szerint, a Rob nevű kutya az észak-afrikai és az olasz fronton is szolgált. Egyebek mellett az volt a feladata, hogy őrködjön, és az arcuk megnyalásával figyelmeztesse az egységében lévő katonákat a veszélyre, amivel állítólag sok kétlábú „bajtársa” életét megmentette.
Rob az egyetlen kutya, amelyet a PDSA Dickin Medal for Gallantry éremmel, a Viktória-kereszthez hasonló elismeréssel tüntettek ki, és megkapta az RSPCA Red Collar for Valour (Vörös nyakörv a bátorságért) kitüntetést is, továbbá életre szóló kekszellátmányt.
Egykori gazdájának fia, Basil Bayne, aki Robbal együtt nőtt fel Shropshire-ben, a nyakörvével és fényképekkel együtt adta el a kitüntetéseket a londoni Noonans Mayfair aukciósház árverésén.
„Nagyon örülök, hogy Rob történetét és örökségét ilyen nagy tiszteletben tartják, és hogy elismerik azt a fontos szerepet, amelyet ő és sok más állat töltött be” – hangsúlyozta az árverés után Bayne.

Bob Dylan amerikai énekes egyedi lemeze csaknem 1,5 millió fontért kelt el a Christie’s csütörtöki londoni aukcióján.
Az 1962-ben született Blowin’ In The Wind című szám új változatát 2021-ben vette fel az énekes-dalszerző, aki költőként az irodalmi Nobel-díjat is elnyerte. Megjelenése óta ez volt a híres dal első új stúdiófelvétele, amelyből összesen egyetlen lemez készült.
A BBC News tudósítása szerint a licitálás mindössze 4 percig tartott. A leütési ár jóval meghaladta az aukciósház előzetes becslését, amely 600 ezer és egymillió font közötti összeget várt a különleges lemezért. A vásárló nevét egyelőre nem hozták nyilvánosságra.
Az egyedülálló korong egyben egy új lemeztípust is képvisel, amely egyesíti a CD és a vinyl anyagainak egy részét, így jobb hangminőséget, tartósságot ígér, mint a vinyl, de bármilyen lemezjátszón lejátszható.
Az árverésre bocsátott, fadobozzal együtt kínált lemezbe a Grammy-díjas Dylan és producere, a felvételen is közreműködő T Bone Burnett, valamint a hangmérnök Jeff Powell nevét is belevésték.
Dylan a legenda szerint mindössze tíz perc alatt írta ezt a számot New Yorkban, egy Greenwich Village-i kávézóban 1962-ben.

A Star Wars: Egy új remény című 1977-ben bemutatott sci-fiben használt X-szárnyú vadászgép modellje 2,37 millió dolláros (több mint 7 millió hrivnya) áron cserélt gazdát kedden a Prop Store aukcióján.
A George Lucas rendezésében forgatott film különleges effektusait készítő Industrial Light & Magic által gyártott miniatűr modell árát előzetesen 500 ezer-egymillió dollárra becsülték. A kalapács azonban végül 2 375 000 dollárnál csapott le – számolt be róla a The Hollywood Reporter.
Az aukciósház közleménye szerint a modell rendkívüli ritkaságnak számít, mivel a Halálcsillag elleni küzdelem jeleneteiben használt X-szárnyúak többségét felrobbantották a pirotechnikusok a forgatás alatt.
A modell ráadásul nagyon jó állapotban maradt fenn.
A modellt tervező konceptművész, Colin Cantwell májusban hunyt el, 90 éves korában. Cantwell tervezte a Star Wars-filmekhez a birodalmi TIE-vadászok és a Halálcsillag prototípusát is. Mások mellett dolgozott még a 2001: Űrodüsszeia és a Harmadik típusú találkozások vizuális effektusain és a Háborús játékok című filmen is.

Árverésre bocsátja hétfő este a tavaly elnyert Nobel-békedíját Dmitrij Muratov orosz újságíró, a márciusban bezárt Novaja Gazeta című független orosz lap volt főszerkesztője, az aukció bevételét pedig az ENSZ Gyermekalapja (UNICEF) kapja, hogy segítse az ukrajnai háború miatt földönfutóvá vált gyerekeket.
Muratov korábban már jelezte, hogy a díjjal járó 500 ezer dollár készpénzt jótékony célra ajánlja fel. Azt mondta: az adomány célja, hogy „esélyt adjon a menekült gyerekeknek a jövőre”.
Az AP amerikai hírügynökségnek adott interjúban Muratov elmondta, különösen aggasztja az ukrajnai harcok miatt elárvult gyerekek sorsa.
Az orosz újságíró a Nobel-békedíj elárverezését szervező Heritage Auctions amerikai aukciós ház által közzétett videóban hangsúlyozta: azt szeretné, ha akciója egy villámcsődület (flash mob) kezdete lenne, és példával járna elöl mások számára is, hogy árverezzék el értékes tárgyaikat az ukránok megsegítésére.
Muratov élesen bírálta a Krím félsziget 2014-es Oroszországhoz csatolását és a február végén Ukrajna ellen indított átfogó orosz támadást. Lapja, a Novaja Gazeta március végén közölte, hogy az ukrajnai háború befejezéséig felfüggesztik az újság online és papíralapú változatát, illetve közösségimédia-tevékenységét, miután másodszor is figyelmeztetést kaptak az orosz tömegtájékoztatási és távközlési felügyelettől. A háború kezdete óta a korábbinál is nagyobb nyomás nehezedett az orosz hivatalos fősodorhoz nem tartozó, a Kreml politikáját bíráló médiumokra. Március elején betiltották az Eho Moszkvi rádióállomást és a Dozsgy online televíziót.
Muratov 2021-ben Maria Ressa Fülöp-szigeteki újságíróval megosztva kapta meg a Nobel-békedíjat azért a küzdelemért, amelyet „a demokrácia és a tartós béke előfeltételének tekinthető véleménynyilvánítás szabadságáért” folytatnak olyan országokban, amelyekben az újságírók „állandó veszélyben vannak” a fizikai és verbális támadásoktól, zaklatástól.
Muratov kitüntetésére már június 1-től lehet online licitálni, a hétfő esti élő licitet pedig a menekültek világnapjára időzítették. Hétfő reggel a legmagasabb ajánlat Muratov békedíjára 550 ezer dolláron állt, de a várakozások szerint ez az összeg milliós nagyságrendekig emelkedhet.
A Muratov békedíjával járó emlékérem 175 grammos, 23 karátos aranya nagyjából 10 ezer dollárt érhet.
A legnagyobb összeget eddig James Watson amerikai molekuláris biológus kapta a Nobel-díjjal járó emlékérméért: az 1962-ben az orvostudományi Nobel-díjjal kitüntetett tudós 2014-ben 4,76 millió dollárért adta el arany medálját. Három évvel később, a Watsonnal együtt kitüntetett Francis Crick családja 2,27 millió dollárra tett szert az emlékérem elárverezéséből, amelyet akkor is a Heritage Auctions szervezett.

Washingtonban 100 000 dollárért adták el egy jótékonysági aukción Washingtonban Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök arról elhíresült hímzett ingét, hogy az ukrán népviseleti darabot az idei visivanka napján viselte – számolt be az unn.com.ua hírportál vasárnap az Amerika Hangja rádióállomásra hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint a jótékonysági árverést június 3-án, pénteken tartották a United 24 program bemutatójának részeként a washingtoni Ukrán Házban. Az ukrán elnöki ereklyét az Asters USA amerikai ügyvédi iroda vette meg. A befolyt összeget az Ukrán Nemzeti Bank számlájára utalják, és az ígéretek szerint védelmi célokra, aknamentesítésre, egészségügyi ellátásra, az ország újjáépítésére fordítják majd.
Az aukción Zelenszkij visivánkáján kívül Artem Dovbik és Andrij Jarmolenko mezei is elkeltek, amelyekben az ukrán válogatott Skócia nemzeti tizenegye elleni győztes meccsén rúgták a labdát június 1-jén.
Az aukción sikere volt egy kakas formájú bögrének is, amely hasonló ahhoz, amely a Kijevhez közeli Borogyanka orosz megszállók által szétlőtt egyik lakóházának a szekrényén maradt meg épségben.

Akár 30 millió euróért is elkelhet egy 2019-ben felfedezett ritka Michelangelo-rajz egy májusi árverésen Párizsban – jelentette be kedden a Christie’s brit aukciósház.
A rajz egyike a magántulajdonban lévő kevés Michelangelo-műnek. 1907-ben Párizsban adták el, de akkor még úgy gondolták, hogy a reneszánsz itáliai mester iskolájából származik. A mű hosszú időre lényegében feledésbe merült, csak 2019-ben került az érdeklődés homlokterébe, amikor az aukciósház egy szakértője Michelangelo saját alkotásaként azonosította.
A rajz a mester korai műveinek egyike lehet a 15. század végéről. Azt a didergő férfit ábrázolja – két másik alakkal a közelében – , aki Masaccio A neofiták megkeresztelése című freskóján látható.
„Hosszú idő óta ez az egyik legizgalmasabb felfedezés a régi mesterek rajzainak területén” – mondta Stijn Alsteens, a Christie’s régi mesterek rajzaival foglalkozó osztályának nemzetközi vezetője.
A szakértő szerint a rajzzal Michelangelo két dolgot tesz egyszerre: hátratekint az őt megelőző művészekre, jelen esetben Masaccióra, és előretekint saját művészetére és annak forradalmi jellegére, különös tekintettel az emberi test ábrázolására, amely oly fontos volt mind szobrait, mind a Sixtus-kápolna festett figuráit illetően.
A rajzot a francia állam korábban nemzeti kincsnek nyilvánította, ami lehetetlenné tette külföldre való eladását, de a kormány nemrég feloldotta a kiviteli tilalmat, így azt a világon bárki megvásárolhatja.
A május 18-i árverés előtt a művet Hongkongban és New Yorkban kiállításon mutatják be a közönségnek.
