 A négy személyt, akik kanyarófertőzést kaptak, karanténba helyezték, és elkezdték a velük kapcsolatba került személyek felkutatását.
 Psaki elmondása szerint minden USA-ba érkező afgánt be kell oltani a kanyaró ellen, ami az Egyesült Államok területére való belépés feltétele. Elmondta, hogy az Egyesült Államokban az afgán menekülteket befogadó katonai bázisokon a menekültek megkapják az olyan betegségek elleni védőoltásokat, mint például a kanyaró, a mumpsz és a rubeola, a hatóságok pedig fontolóra veszik azon személyek beoltását, akik még mindig külföldi támaszpontokon vannak, és várják az Egyesült Államokba való beutazást.
