Másfél-két hónapon belül véget kell érnie Oroszország ukrajnai offenzívájának, már így is elhúzódott – jelentette ki szerdán Kirilo Budanov vezérőrnagy, a Védelmi Minisztérium hírszerzési főosztályának a vezetője a Forbes magazinnak adott interjújában, számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint Budanov elmondta: „Másfél-két hónapon belül véget kell érnie az orosz hadsereg támadásának, mert az offenzíva már így is elhúzódott. A 10 éves háború gyakorlata azt mutatja, hogy egyik fél sem folytatja az offenzíváját több mint két hónapig.”
A tábornok megjegyezte, hogy Oroszország támadó hadműveletei a három hónaphoz közelítenek, így a jövőben némi visszaesés várható. „De tudjuk, hogy egy kis csend és szünet után az ellenség újabb előretöréssel fog próbálkozni. Mi pedig készülünk erre. Ezért minden inkább rajtunk múlik, hogy mit teszünk. Ülünk-e és várunk, míg eltelik négy-öt hónap, és minden megismétlődik, vagy előre cselekszünk” – fogalmazott Kirilo Budanov.

A jelentés szerint Budanov elmondta: „A jó hír az, hogy nem lesz Armageddon. A rossz hír az, hogy a helyzet meglehetősen nehéz. Legalább egy hónapig így is marad, és nem lesz könnyebb.”
Amint azt a The Philadelphia Inquirer megjegyezte, várhatóan az orosz erők megpróbálnak maximális nyomást gyakorolni a frontra a NATO 75. évfordulós csúcstalálkozójának előestéjén, és még mielőtt a nagyobb lőszer- és más fontos fegyverszállítmányok megérkeznek az Egyesült Államokból.
„Mindent megteszünk, hogy akadályozzuk őket, és minimalizáljuk az orosz sikereket” – hangsúlyozta Kirilo Budanov.

A jelentés szerint az újság rámutatott, hogy „az ukrán hadsereg kritikus gyalogoshiánnyal néz szembe, ami kimerültséghez és alacsony morálhoz vezet a frontvonalban, ami egy veszélyes új dinamika Kijev számára majdnem két évvel az Oroszországgal vívott véres háború kezdete után.”
Az elmúlt napokban a frontvonalon készített interjúkban közel egy tucat katona és parancsnok mondta az amerikai lapnak, hogy most az élőerőhiány a legégetőbb problémájuk, és hogy Oroszország visszanyerte a támadó kezdeményezést a csatatéren, és felpörgeti a támadásait. A megkérdezett katonák névtelenül nyilatkoztak a lapnak.
A Kelet-Ukrajnában harcoló gépesített dandár egyik zászlóaljának parancsnoka elmondta, hogy alakulatának jelenleg kevesebb, mint 40 gyalogosa van – olyan katonák, akik a frontvonal lövészárkaiban vannak, és feltartóztatják az orosz támadásokat. A parancsnok szerint egy teljesen felszerelt zászlóaljban több mint 200 katonának kell lennie. Egy másik dandár gyalogzászlóalj-parancsnoka elmondta, hogy az ő egysége is hasonlóan kimerült – közölte a többi között a The Washington Post.

Rusztem Umerov ukrán védelmi miniszter és Valerij Zaluzsnij, az ukrán fegyveres erők főparancsnoka kedden közösen látogatást tett az ország keleti felében futó frontvonalakon – közölte a kijevi védelmi minisztérium.
A tárca szerint az aktuális helyzetről tájékozódtak, katonákat tüntettek ki és egy közös cselekvési tervet készítettek elő.
A minisztérium egyúttal közzétett egy videofelvételt, amelyen Umerov és Zaluzsnij látható Olekszandr Szirszkij, az ukrán szárazföldi erők parancsnoka társaságában.
Umerov később sajtótájékoztatóján cáfolta, hogy a kijevi kormányzat Zaluzsnij leváltására készülne, aminek lehetőségéről az ukrán sajtó cikkezett. A kérdés nem merült fel – mondta a miniszter.

Több egykori Wagner-zsoldos, aki Fehéroroszországban tartózkodott, szerződést írt alá az orosz védelmi minisztériummal, és ismét feltűntek Ukrajnában, a keleti fronton – mondta el Illja Jevlas, az ukrán keleti haderőcsoport szóvivője szerdán az Ukrajinszka Pravda hírportálnak.
A szóvivő hozzátette, hogy a fegyveresek egy része Afrikába ment harcolni. „A Wagner katonai magáncég egykori katonái jelenleg ténylegesen jelen vannak a keleti haderőcsoport területén. Részt vesznek a harci cselekményekben. Java részük Fehéroroszország területéről jött, ahol táboraik voltak” – fejtette ki Jevlas.
Hozzátette, hogy most különböző alakulatokhoz osztják be őket. A szóvivő szerint a zsoldosok már nem jelentenek akkora fenyegetést, amióta „fő vezetőjük”, Jevgenyij Prigozsin meghalt.
Andrij Demcsenko, az ukrán határőrszolgálat szóvivője a hírportálnak elmondta, hogy több mint hatezer Wagner-zsoldos tartózkodott Fehéroroszország területén, mostanra viszont csupán körülbelül ötszázan maradtak.

A Kreml Prigozsin halála után kezdte átvenni az irányítást a Közel-Keleten és Afrikában működő, mintegy 6000 harcosból álló Wagner-egységek felett.
Mindeközben a Wagner zsoldosszervezet közölte, hogy harcosaik visszatérnek Ukrajnába, hogy megvédjék Oroszország érdekeit.
Továbbra is bizonytalan a jövője az orosz állam által erősen támogatott katonai magáncégnek, amely kulcsszerepet játszott a donyecki Bahmut városért folyó harcban. A Wagner azonban változatlanul hozzáférést biztosít a Kremlnek az erőforrásokhoz Afrika azon részein, ahol máig jelen van (Szudán, Líbia, Mali, Közép-afrikai Köztársaság).
A júniusi lázadás, és pláne Prigozsin halála óta a Kreml szorosabb ellenőrzés alá vonta a Wagnert, amelynek harcosait Putyin ultimátum elé állította: vagy csatlakozhatnak az orosz hadsereghez, vagy Belaruszba mennek – írja az Euronews.

Úgy tűnik, hogy több mint egy év után visszatér a frontvonalra a mariupoli Azovsztal védelmekor elhíresült Azov ezred. A korábbi egység egyes tagjai azóta már elszórtan feltűntek a fronton, de az újjáalakulásról egyelőre nem lehetett tudni.
Mikola Ursalovics, az Ukrán Nemzeti Gárda Főigazgatósága tervezési főosztályának igazgatóhelyettese jelentette be, hogy újra megkezdi tevékenységét az elhíresült Azov ezred az ukrán fronton. Ráadásul rögtön a háború egyik legforróbb szakaszára, a Kreminna-Szvatove vonal mentén fekvő szerebrjankai erdőségekbe telepítik őket.

Az Azov ezred az emlékezetes mariupoli acélgyár, az Azovsztal védelmét látták el még 2022 tavaszán. Az üzemet végül 82 napnyi véres csata után májusban sikerült elfoglalniuk az orosz erőknek, akkor kerültek hadifogságba a védelemben hírnevet szerzett katonák. Ősszel aztán egy megállapodás értelmében Törökországba kerültek a hadifoglyok, majd Ankara átadta őket Kijevnek.

Az Amerikai Egyesült Államok ellenőröket és nyomozókat küld közvetlenül az ukrán háborús övezetbe, hogy nézzenek utána az amerikai gazdasági és katonai segélyek felhasználásának – adta hírül pénteken az rbc.ua hírportál a The Wall Street Jornal című amerikai lapra hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint az amerikai fegyverek továbbadásának, az adófizetői pénzek pazarlásának megelőzéséért és a segélyprogramok megfelelő működésének biztosításáért felelős tisztviselők az újságnak elmondták, hogy a segélyeket alaposan vizsgáló 177 ellenőr egy részét Ukrajnába kívánják küldeni. „Úgy gondolom, hogy kreatívak, előretekintők voltunk az eddigi vizsgálatok során. Ám az igazi átfogó, nagyszabású ellenőrzés nem végezhető távolról. Minél közelebb vagyunk, annál pontosabb lesz a megfigyelés” – mondta Nicole Angarella, az Egyesült Államok Nemzetközi Fejlesztési Ügynökségének (USAID) megbízott főfelügyelője.
Az amerikai megbízott azt is hozzátette, hogy a fő gond nem is a katonai segélyekkel való esetleges visszaélés, hanem az a több mint 20 milliárd dollár, amelyet az USA a Világbankon keresztül küld Ukrajnának. „A készpénzes fizetés jelenti a legnagyobb kockázatot a felügyelet számára. Ez mindig nagyobb kockázatot jelentent” – mutatott rá Angarella.
Az ellenőrök jelezték, hogy egyelőre nem kaptak tájékoztatást az Egyesült Államok Ukrajnának nyújtott segélyeivel kapcsolatos jelentősebb visszaélésekről vagy jogellenes akciókról. Robert Storch, a Pentagon főfelügyelője és Diana Shaw, a külügyminisztérium főfelügyelő-helyettese szerint ugyanakkor az alapos ellenőrzések fő problémája a segélyek igen nagy mennyisége, megérkezésének gyorsasága és az ellátások folyamatosan változó jellege.
