A brit királyi családhoz közel álló források szerint az udvarban aktívan tárgyalják azoknak az intézkedéseknek a tervét, ha magát a herceg áldozatának nevező Virginia Juffre (házasság előtt – Roberts) megnyerné az Andrew ellen indított pert.
Ebben az esetben a herceget hazájában örök „belföldi száműzetés” fenyegeti. Az Egyesült Államoknak való kiadatás veszélye miatt nem hagyhatja el az országot, sokkal szerényebben kell élnie, és valószínűleg ki kell, hogy költözzön a Windsori kastély melletti The Royal Lodge-ból. Kedvezőtlen eredmény esetén a herceget felkérik, hogy ne használja hivatalos titulusát, mondjon le a tiszteletbeli katonai rangjairól és számos jótékonysági szervezet mecénási szerepéről.
A Juffre indítványával kapcsolatos tárgyalásra a tervek szerint január 4-én kerül sor a New York Déli Kerületi Bíróságán. Őfelsége védője formális okokra hivatkozva kéri a kereset megszüntetését. A herceg képviselői megpróbálják bebizonyítani, hogy az ügyet nem tárgyalhatják Egyesült Államokban, ahol Juffre született és felnőtt, mivel a felperes régen Ausztráliába költözött és életvitelszerűen él ott.
2019 augusztusában Virginia Juffre háromszoros nemi erőszakkal vádolta meg Andrew herceget. Elmondása szerint kénytelen volt szexuális kapcsolatba lépni a herceggel Jeffrey Epstein pénzügyi szakember otthonában, valamint a magánszigetén. Juffre megjegyezte – akkor mindössze 17 éves volt.

Az angliai középiskolákban a tanulókat arra fogják felszólítani, hogy a jövő héttől, a karácsonyi szünetről visszatérve viseljenek maszkot, hogy útját állják a koronavírus omikron variánsa egyre nagyobb mértékű terjedésének – közölte Nadhim Zahawi oktatási miniszter vasárnap.
A politikus a The Sunday Telegraph című konzervatív vasárnapi brit lapban megjelent cikkben kifejtette, az omikron terjedése miatt ezt a kiegészítő, ideiglenes intézkedést a következő hetekben javasolják bevezetni a középiskolai osztálytermekben.
Az Egyesült Királyságot alkotó négy országból egyedül Angliában nem volt ajánlott a maszk használata az osztálytermekben. A napi fertőzési számok egyre magasabb értékei miatt, valamint azért, mert a pozitív tesztet produkálóknak legalább hét napig el kell szigetelniük magukat, az iskolák és más közszolgáltatások munkaerőhiánnyal küzdenek.
A kormány arra kérte a közszféra vezetőit: készüljenek fel arra a legrosszabb forgatókönyvre, hogy az elkövetkező hetekben a dolgozók negyede kiesik a munkából.
Zahawi szerint szükség lesz távoktatásra is, mivel a tanulók és a tanárok nagy számban lesznek kénytelenek önkéntesen karanténba vonulni. Hozzátette azonban, hogy a személyes tanítás továbbra is elvárt norma marad, és a vizsgák is a tervek szerint zajlanak majd januárban.

Ezen kívül a britek számára meglehetősen kedvező árakat kínálnak az odesszai szállodák.
Érdemes megjegyezni, hogy Odessza a must visit listáján nagyon méltó társaságban szerepel: Bécs (Ausztria); Chania (Kréta, Görögország); Nápoly (Olaszország); Párizs (Franciaország); Szöul (Dél-Korea); Kaunas (Litvánia); Oslo (Norvégia); Split (Horvátország).

Január 5-én tárgyalhatja második olvasatban a brit felsőház, vagyis a Lordok Háza az állampolgárságról és államhatárokról szóló törvényt (Nationality and Borders Bill) azt követően, hogy december elején a Képviselőház (House of Commons) elfogadta a tervezetet. A törvényjavaslat a mostaninál jóval szigorúbb állampolgársági és bevándorlási szabályokat léptetne érvénybe az Egyesült Királyságban.
Ennek értelmében büntetőjogi szankció (4 évig terjedő szabadságvesztés) fenyegetné azokat, akik engedély nélkül lépik át az Egyesült Királyság határait. A törvényjavaslat lehetővé tenné az Egyesült Királyság idegenrendészete számára azt is, hogy a hatóságok egy „biztonságos harmadik ország” területére küldjék a menedékkérőt, aki ott, vagyis az szigetországon kívül várhatná meg az eljárás eredményét.
Novemberben a javaslathoz Priti Patel belügyminiszter további szigorú kiegészítéseket is tűzött. Eszerint a javaslatban immáron szerepel egy olyan törvényi rendelkezés is, amely ugyan kivételes eseteben, de külön értesítés nélkül megfosztaná a meglévő brit állampolgárságuktól azokat, akik nemzetbiztonsági kockázatot, terrorveszélyt jelentenek az Egyesült Királyságra nézve. Megjegyzendő, hogy a jelenlegi, 1981-es szabály (The British Nationality Act) előírja, hogy államtitkári szintű értesítést kell küldeni az érintettnek azelőtt, hogy az állampolgárságtól való megfosztás megtörténne.
A küszöbön álló szabályok ez alól engednek kivételt, ha az illető értesítése „észszerű keretek között nem valósítható meg”.
Ilyen esetkör akkor merül fel például, ha az érintett például külföldön harcol (pl. a brit állampolgárságú dzsihadisták), vagy ha az értesítés kulcsfontosságú hírszerzési akciót hiúsítana meg. Az állampolgárságtól való megfosztás emellett kivételesen nemzetbiztonsági, diplomáciai és egyéb közérdekre való hivatkozással is megtörténhet.
A tervezet indokolása szerint a Nationality and Borders Bill célja, hogy méltányosabbá tegye a jelenlegi rendszert, és hogy jobban védje azokat, akiknek valóban menedékre van szüksége.
Azokat pedig, akiknek nincs joga ahhoz, hogy az Egyesült Királyság területén tartózkodjanak, könnyebben ki lehessen toloncolni.
A törvényjavaslat épp emiatt elméletileg alkalmas arra is, hogy megtörje a jelenleg oly divatos embercsempészet „üzleti modelljét”.
A Nationality and Borders Bill elfogadását eddig is parázs vita övezte. A kritikák többsége az emberi jogi nem kormányzati szervezetek (NGO-k) és az ENSZ menekültügyi ügynökségétől érkezett. Egyes egyesült királyságbeli pártok, így a Munkáspárt, a Skót Nemzeti Párt és a Liberális Demokraták is a törvényjavaslat elvetése mellett kardoskodtak. A Képviselőház így is elfogadta a javaslat eredeti szövegét 366-265 arányban.
A vita azonban folyt tovább, s a kormány több mint 100 módosító rendelkezést ágyazott a szövegbe.
Ez között számos technikai módosítás is megtalálható, ugyanakkor szintén ebben a körben került bele a javaslatba az értesítés nélküli állampolgárságtól való megfosztás is. Ezt a verziót a Képviselőház 298-231 arányban fogadta el.

Franciaország kormánya úgy döntött, hogy a jövőben jelentősen megszigorítja a Nagy-Britannia területéről való beutazás szabályait tekintettel a koronavírus Omicron törzse okozta megbetegedések számának növekedésére, jelentette be Gabriel Attal, Franciaország kormányának hivatalos képviselője. Ezen túl Franciaország területére való belépéshez koronavírus tesztre van szükség, amelyet korábban, mint 24 órával a beutazás előtt készítettek. Ez azonban még nem minden, nyomós oknak kell lennie ahhoz, hogy Franciaországból Nagy-Britanniába utazzanak.
Ráadásul minden állampolgárnak, aki Nagy-Britanniából érkezik Franciaországba, be kell tartania a 7 napos karantént. A Franciaországban elvégzett negatív PCR-teszt esetén 48 órára csökken a karanténban letöltendő idő.
Azt is tudni kell, hogy pusztán turisztikai céllal az Egyesült Királyságba utazni még azok sem tudnak, akik átestek a koronavírus elleni teljes oltási cikluson. A központi vezetés minden franciát arra szólított fel, hogy lehetőleg halasszák el nagy-britanniai utazásaikat.
Gabriel Attal kijelentette, „az új intézkedések péntekről szombatra virradó éjjel lépnek hatályba”. Ugyanakkor biztosított arról, hogy azok a francia állampolgárok, akik már Nagy-Britanniában tartózkodnak, az új korlátozások ellenére is hazatérhetnek.
A francia egészségügyi szolgálat legfrissebb adatai szerint az országban összesen 240 Omicron fertőzéses esetet fedtek fel. Az elmúlt 24 órában több mint 65 000 koronavírus fertőzéses esetet regisztráltak az országban, ami abszolút rekordnak számít ez év ősze és tele időszakában. Az elmúlt héten 7%-kal nőtt az új esetek száma.
Ami Nagy-Britanniát illeti, egy nappal ezelőtt az Omicron törzs okozta fertőzéses esetek száma meghaladta a 10 ezret. Az elmúlt 24 órában pedig 78 ezer koronavírus beteget regisztráltak –2020 januárja óta ez rekordszám. Ennek kapcsán Boris Johnson, az ország miniszterelnöke az elkövetkezendő napokban a megbetegedések számának növekedésére figyelmeztette a briteket.
Brit tudósok szerint az Omicron törzs okozta „csúcsa” a jövő év januárjában következik be.
Franciaországban a közeljövőben újabb belföldi korlátozásokat vezetnek be.
Párizs véleménye szerint kevesebb mint egy héttel karácsony előtt az intenzív osztályokon nyilvántartott COVID-19 betegek száma meghaladja a négy ezret, a terápiás osztályokon lévő betegek száma jelenleg 2800.

A döntést némileg aláássa, hogy a konzervatív kormányzat még a tavalyi karácsonyi bulija miatt áll a támadások kereszttüzében, tekintve, hogy annak lezajlásának idején minden hasonló rendezvény tilos volt.
Noha a mostani korlátozások még messze vannak a korábban jellemzőektől, melyek komoly csapást mértek a brit gazdaságra, a mostani lépések is csökkenthetik az éttermek, kávézók és boltok forgalmát.
Johnson ugyanakkor azt is kijelentette, hogy nem tartható sokáig a járványkezelés nem orvosi kezelése csak azért, mert a lakosság jelentős része nem hajlandó felvenni az oltásokat.

A hírt Ukrajna nagy-britanniai nagykövetsége jelentette Facebook-oldalán. A szabályok mától, azaz november 30-tól lépnek érvénybe.
Az országba érkezők a beutazáskor PCR-tesztet kell elvégezzenek, s két nap karanténba kell vonuljanak. Ezenkívül az üzletekben és a tömegközlekedési eszközökön kötelező a szájmaszk viselése.
„Mindenkinek, aki oltottsági státusza ellenére érintkezhetett az Omicron vírussal fertőzött emberekkel, az NHS Test and Trace felügyelete alatt el kell karanténba vonulnia” – jelentették ki a nagykövetségnél.

A brit kormány november végétől azokat a beutazókat is beoltottnak tekinti, akik egyes kínai, illetve indiai gyártmányú vakcinákból kapták meg a koronavírus elleni oltás teljes dózisát – közölte a brit közlekedési minisztérium.
A jelenlegi szabályozás értelmében azok utazhatnak be Angliába könnyített feltételekkel – mindenekelőtt karanténkötelezettség és az utazás előtti tesztelési kötelem nélkül –, akik az Oxford/AstraZeneca-, a Pfizer/BioNTech- vagy a Moderna-vakcinából, illetve ezek bármilyen kombinációjából, vagy az egykomponensű Janssen oltóanyagból kapták meg a teljes adagot az angliai érkezés előtt legalább 14 nappal.
A brit közlekedési minisztérium kedd délutáni bejelentése szerint november 22-től ez a lista kiegészül az Egészségügyi Világszervezet veszélyhelyzeti alkalmazhatósági vakcinalistáján (WHO EUL) szereplő, kínai gyártmányú Sinovac- és Sinopharm-vakcinákkal, valamint az indiai Covaxin oltóanyaggal. A teljes oltottságot brit vagy nemzetközileg elfogadott külföldi igazolással kell bizonyítani. A Magyarországról Angliába érkezők – csakúgy, mint a többi EU-tagország állampolgárai – az Európai Unió digitális igazolását is használhatják. A teljesen beoltott beutazók számára október végétől megszűnt az angliai érkezés után elvégzendő, kijelölt laboratóriumokba visszaküldendő PCR-teszt kötelme, ehelyett a jóval olcsóbb, néhány perc alatt eredményt mutató gyorsteszt (lateral flow test) elvégzése is elégséges. A tesztet az érkezés utáni második nap végéig el kell végezni. Ha a gyorsteszt pozitívnak bizonyul, akkor elkülönítésbe kell vonulni és az eredményt egy PCR-teszt elvégzésével kell ellenőrizni. Ebben az esetben a PCR-teszthez szükséges készletet a brit állami egészségügyi szolgálattól (NHS) lehet ingyenesen megrendelni az nhs.uk/coronavirus honlapon vagy az Anglián belül hívható 119-es telefonszámon.
A brit közlekedési minisztérium kedden bejelentette azt is, hogy szintén november 22-től teljesen beoltottnak tekinti a 17 évesnél fiatalabb beutazókat, függetlenül attól, hogy honnan érkeznek Angliába és kaptak-e oltást. A jelenlegi szabályozás szerint azoknak az 5-17 éves gyerekeknek, akik vagy Nagy-Britanniában élnek, vagy olyan országokban, amelyeknek oltási programját a brit kormány elismeri, érkezésük után nem kell karanténba vonulniuk, és indulás előtt sem kell koronavírustesztet elvégezniük, akkor sem, ha még nem részesültek oltásban. Nekik is csak az érkezés utáni második nap elteltéig kell elvégezniük egy gyorstesztet. London jelenleg 137 ország oltási programját fogadja el, köztük Magyarországét.
A közlekedési tárca keddi ismertetése szerint november 22-től ezek a szabályok minden gyermekre vonatkoznak, függetlenül attól, hogy a gyerekek melyik országban élnek. A 4 éves vagy ennél kisebb gyerekeket semmilyen koronavírustesztnek nem kell alávetni.
