Makszim Sztepanov ukrán egészségügyi miniszter és Melinda Simmons nagy-britanniai nagykövet az ukrajnai vakcinagyártás lehetőségéről tárgyalt.
„Az Egészségügyi Minisztérium folyamatos kapcsolatban áll az AstraZenecával, mely az Oxfordi Egyetemmel közösen fejleszti ki koronavírus elleni vakcinát, s amelynek gyártása a közeljövőben elindulhat. Fontolóra vesszük az ukrán létesítmények bevonásának lehetőségét is a vakcina előállításába” – közölte Sztepanov Facebook-oldalán, s reményét fejezte ki abban, hogy országunk elsőként részesül majd az oltóanyagban.
Az Oxford és az AstraZeneca akár 50 000 önkéntest is bevonna a kutatás utolsó szakaszába, továbbá tervei között szerepel Japán és Oroszország felvétele is a résztvevő országok listájára. Az AstraZeneca az elsők között jelentette be a Covid–19 elleni vakcina nagyszabású kísérleteinek sikerét. Nagy-Britannia 30 millió, az Európai Bizottság pedig 300 millió dózis oltóanyagot igényelt a leendő vakcinából.

A kijárási korlátozások lazítása után sok ember a természet felé vette az irányt, a zöld területeket így egyre jobban ellepte a szemét.
Egy Instagram-oldalból vált mozgalommá a 2017-ben alapított Trash Free Trails (TFT) kezdeményezés az Egyesült Királyságban, melynek célja, hogy önkéntesek segítségével megtisztítsák a szigetország zöld területeit – számolt be róla a Guardian.
Most egy új akciót hirdettek, a koronavírus-járvány miatti kijárási korlátozások lazításával ugyanis egyre több ember indult el kirándulni, hogy feltöltődjön – így azonban egyre csak gyűlik a szemét a területeken.
A TFT ezért helyi akciókat hirdet meg önkéntesek – kutyasétáltatók, túrázók, futók és biciklizők – körében, hogy közös erővel megtisztítsák a szeméttől az érintett területeket. Tavaly 282 önkéntes segítségével 500 kilogrammnyi hulladékot gyűjtöttek össze 8 út mentén, reményeik szerint idén még több önkéntes segítségével még nagyobb területet tisztítanak majd meg.

A brit kormány ingyenes életbiztosítást köt az állami egészségügyi szolgálat (NHS) és a szociális ellátórendszer dolgozóinak arra az esetre, ha a koronavírus-járvány a halálukat okozná – közölte hétfőn a brit egészségügyi miniszter.
Matt Hancock a brit kormány szokásos napi tájékoztatóján
elmondta: eddig 21 092-en haltak meg a nagy-britanniai Covid-19-járványban. A
halálos áldozatok között van az NHS 82 dolgozója és a szociális ellátórendszer
16 munkavállalója.
Hancock közölte: a kormány életbiztosítási programot
dolgozott ki, amelynek alapján azoknak az NHS-dolgozóknak és szociális
gondozóknak a családja, akik a koronavírus okozta betegségben halnak meg, 60
ezer font (több mint 24 millió forint) juttatásban részesülnek.
A miniszter hangsúlyozta: természetesen semmi sem
kárpótolhatja a családokat szeretteik elvesztéséért, a brit kormány mégis
mindent szeretne megtenni a gyászoló családok támogatására.
Hozzátette: a kormány vizsgálja a program kiterjesztésének
lehetőségét más olyan foglalkozási ágakra is, amelyeknek tagjai szintén a
koronavírus-járvány elleni közdelem frontvonalában dolgoznak.
Az egészségügyi miniszter tájékoztatása szerint
Nagy-Britanniában hétfőig 719 910 szűrővizsgálatot végeztek és 157 149 emberről
állapították meg, hogy megfertőződött az új koronavírussal.
A szűréssel újonnan azonosított koronavírus-fertőzöttek
száma egy nap alatt 4310-zel emelkedett.
Egy héttel ezelőtt 4676 új fertőződést azonosítottak, a korábbi hetekben 5500–5600 közötti napi esetszám-emelkedéseket mértek.
A halálos áldozatok száma a hétfői tájékoztatás szerint az
elmúlt 24 órában 360-nal nőtt.
Ez eddig a legalacsonyabb napi növekedés ebben a hónapban.

Nagy-Britanniában megkezdődött a Covid-19 elleni gyógykészítmények tesztelése. Hasonlóan nagyszabású tesztelést a világon sehol máshol nem indítottak még el – közölte a The Guardian.
A kutatásban 165 egészségügyi intézmény több mint 5000
páciense vesz részt. A projekt elsődleges feladata az egyes gyógyszerek
hatékonysági szintjének értékelése. Egy készítményt 500–900 betegen próbálnak
ki.
A kutatást Peter Horby, az Oxfordi Egyetem professzora, a
fertőző betegségek és globális egészségvédelem szakembere vezeti. A projekt
keretein belül az egészségügyi dolgozók a hidroxiklorokin elnevezésű malária
elleni szert, valamint az azitromicin elnevezésű antibiotikumot tesztelik.
Ezenkívül felvettek a kutatásban szereplő gyógyszerek listájára egy, a
HIV-fertőzött betegeknél használt készítményt, továbbá bővítenék a listát a reumatoid
artritisz autoimmun betegségnél használt egyik gyógyszerrel és a
koronavírus-betegségből kigyógyult betegek vérplazmájával.

Egybehangzó pénteki brit sajtóbeszámolók szerint elmarad Beatrix hercegnőnek, II. Erzsébet királynő 31 esztendős unokájának májusra tervezett esküvője az új koronavírus okozta járvány miatt.
Beatrix hercegnő – András yorki hercegnek, a brit uralkodó harmadik gyermekének elsőszülött leánya – május 29-én házasodott volna össze polgári származású vőlegényével, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi 37 éves olasz ingatlanmágnással. Az eljegyzés hírét szeptemberben jelentették be hivatalosan a hercegnő szülei.
A Daily Mail című konzervatív brit napilap és több más médiaszervezet a hercegnő családjának szóvivőjére hivatkozva azonban pénteken arról adott hírt, hogy a pár új időpont nélkül törölte az esküvőt, amelynek helyszíne a londoni St. James-palota lett volna.
A Buckingham-palota, a királyi család első számú londoni rezidenciája már korábban bejelentette, hogy az esküvő után tervezett parti, amelyet a palota parkjában tartottak volna, elmarad.
Beatrix szóvivője a pénteki sajtóbeszámolók szerint közölte: a jegyespár egyelőre nem gondolkodik új időpontról. „Majd eljön ennek is az ideje, de az nem most van” – fogalmazott a név nélkül idézett udvari illetékes.
A koronavírus okozta járvány megfékezését célzó, március 23-án bevezetett nagy-britanniai korlátozások értelmében esküvőket, keresztelőket és egyéb ceremoniális társadalmi rendezvényeket sem lehet tartani, és ez alól a királyi család sem kivétel.
A koronavírus okozta Covid-19 betegségen átesett Károly trónörökös, a királynő 71 esztendős elsőszülött fia is, akinek azonban csak enyhe tünetei voltak és már felépült.
A brit kormány a korlátozó intézkedéseket háromhetente felülvizsgálja, és a következő felülvizsgálat május 7-én esedékes, vagyis elvileg megvan a lehetőség arra, hogy az esküvőtilalmat feloldják. Beatrix hercegnő és vőlegénye azonban ettől függetlenül úgy döntött, hogy a május végére kitűzött időpontban nem házasodik össze.
Beatrix a kilencedik a brit trónutódlási sorban, de valójában senki nem számol azzal, hogy valaha is ő lenne az Egyesült Királyság uralkodója.
Jóllehet hercegnőként és az uralkodó unokájaként jogosult a „királyi fenség” megszólításra, a királyi család hivatalos mindennapi tevékenységében nem vesz részt, polgári állása van: Beatrice York néven az Afiniti nevű, New York-i székhelyű szoftvertechnológiai vállalat alelnöki tisztségét tölti be.
Beatrix húga, a 28 esztendős Eugénia hercegnő 2018 októberében ment férjhez a szintén polgári származású 33 éves Jack Brooksbankhez. Brooksbanknek saját borkereskedő cége van, emellett ő az Oscar-díjas hollywoodi sztár, George Clooney és barátai alapította – a Diageo brit szeszesitalgyártó óriás által két éve egymilliárd dollárért felvásárolt – Casamigos tequilacég globális márkanagykövete.

Igen, tényleg ez kezdett terjedni Nagy-Britanniában, az 5G-ellenes hisztéria legújabb felvonásaként. A totális őrültség szerint az 5G károsítja az ember immunrendszerét, és a koronavírus ezért képes megfertőzni minket.
Egy másik állítás még meredekebb: eszerint a vírus valahogy az 5G jeleket használja arra, hogy rátaláljon áldozatára.
Bár normális esetben mondanunk sem kéne, de azért mégis kimondjuk: egy szó sem igaz belőle.
Az állítás, legyen bármilyen nevetséges is, olyannyira terjed az Egyesült Királyságban, hogy még a napi miniszteri koronavírus-tájékoztatón is szóba került, ahol a miniszterelnöki kabinetet vezető miniszter, Michael Gove ezt veszélyes nonszensznek nevezte. Azért veszélyes, mert a mobilkommunikációnak ezekben a válságos időkben még sokkal kiemeltebb a szerepe. Ha nem működik megfelelően az internetszolgáltatás, például nem elég nagy a sávszélesség, akkor az emberek nagyobb valószínűséggel fognak elmenni otthonról, hogy a munkahelyükön dolgozzanak. Ezáltal nő az emberek közötti kontaktusok száma, ami segíti a járványt.
Emellett természetesen a járványellenes védekezésben dolgozó, illetve a létfontosságú infrastruktúrát üzemeltető szakemberek zavartalan kommunikációja is prioritást élvez.
Szóval nem, az 5G, ahogy semmilyen más elektronikai eszköz által kibocsátott sugárzás sem terjeszt semmilyen vírust. Ahogy az összeesküvéselmélet-hívők által az 5G egészségi ártalmairól terjesztett rémhírek egyike sem igaz, semmilyen tudományos adat nem támasztja alá, sőt az esetek nagy részében egyszerűen ellentmond a fizika törvényeinek.

A brit belügyminisztérium csütörtökön ismertetett friss adatai szerint meghaladta a 3,3 milliót azoknak a külföldi EU-állampolgároknak a száma, akik tartós letelepedési engedélyért folyamodtak a brit hatóságokhoz, és több mint 3 millióan már megkapták a határidő nélküli tartózkodási jogosultságot – olvasható a Pesti Srácok honlapján.
Nagy-Britannia január 31-én kilépett az Európai Unióból, de
azok az EU-polgárok, akik törvényesen és életvitelszerűen laknak az országban,
továbbra is maradhatnak megszerzett összes jogosultságuk megtartásával. Ehhez
azonban meghatározatlan időre szóló tartózkodási engedélyért – hivatalos
elnevezéssel letelepedett jogi státusért – kell folyamodniuk.
A londoni belügyminisztérium csütörtöki tájékoztatása
szerint ezt a 27 EU-tagország Nagy-Britanniában élő állampolgárai közül február
29-ig 3 343 700-an tették meg, és a múlt hónap utolsó napjáig 2 998 300-an meg
is kapták a tartós letelepedési engedélyt. A tárca közölte, hogy saját belső –
a statisztikában egyelőre nem szereplő – nyilvántartása szerint azóta
meghaladta a 3 milliót azoknak a száma, akik megkapták a letelepedett jogi
státust. A február 29-i állapotot mutató hivatalos lista élén – ugyanúgy, ahogy
az összes eddigi statisztikában – a lengyelek állnak 639 200 beadott
folyamodvánnyal. Őket a románok követik 543 200 benyújtott kérvénnyel.
A magyarok közül 94 ezren kértek tartós letelepedési
engedélyt a múlt hónap végéig.
A Nagy-Britanniában élő EU-állampolgároknak, akik úgy
döntöttek, hogy a brit EU-tagság megszűnése (Brexit) után is maradnak, a
letelepedett jogi státus megszerzéséhez személyazonosságukat kell hitelesen
igazolniuk és azt, hogy életvitelszerűen tartózkodnak az országban. Emellett be
kell jelenteniük, ha korábban elmarasztaló bírósági ítélet született ellenük
bűncselekmény miatt.
A brit belügyminisztérium csütörtöki kimutatása szerint a
hatóságok a február végéig feldolgozott
kérelmek nagyon nagy többségét kedvezően bírálták el, a több mint 3 millió folyamodvány
közül mindössze 300-at utasítottak el, a legtöbbször nem megfelelően
bizonyított jogosultság vagy rosszul kitöltött kérvény miatt.
Az elbírált folyamodványok 58 százalékában a kérelmezők
végleges, az esetek 41 százalékában előzetes letelepedett státust kaptak. Ez
utóbbit azok a kérelmezők kaphatják, akik a benyújtás idején még nem töltöttek
el öt évet életvitelszerűen Nagy-Britanniában, de ők is megvárhatják az öt év
leteltét, és utána megkapják a végleges tartózkodási engedélyt. Az addig eltelő
időszakban őket is maradéktalanul megilletik eddig megszerzett jogosultságaik.
A brit EU-tagság január végi megszűnésével 11 hónapos
átmeneti időszak kezdődött, amely alatt nem változnak az uniós polgárokra
érvényes bevándorlási szabályok.
Így azok, akik ennek az időszaknak a lejártáig érkeznek az
Európai Unióból letelepedési szándékkal Nagy-Britanniába, ugyanolyan
jogosultsággal kérhetnek tartózkodási engedélyt, mint azok, akik már hosszabb
ideje Nagy-Britanniában élnek. Azok, akik december 31-én már Nagy-Britanniában
tartózkodnak, 2021. június 30-ig nyújthatják be a letelepedett státusra szóló
kérvényüket.
A jövő év első napjától azonban az EU-országokból és az
unión kívülről újonnan érkezőkre a brit kormány tervei szerint egységes
bevándorlási szabályozás lép életbe, amely – főleg a jelentkezők
szakképzettsége és angol nyelvtudása alapján – pontozásos kritériumrendszer
alapján bírálja majd el a letelepedési kérelmeket.

A királyi feladataik nagyját januárban Nagy-Britanniában felzúdulást keltve leadó hercegi pár, Harry herceg és felesége, Meghan Markle nem használhatja a jövőben a SussexRoyal védjegyét.
A döntést kénytelen-kelletlen elfogadó hercegi pár az év elején igazi monarchikus bulvárbombát robbantva jelentette be, hogy a jövőben függetlenedni szeretnének a brit királyi családtól, és inkább a saját útjukat járnák. Idejük nagy részét azóta Kanadában töltik.
A bit sajtó azóta is folyamatosan azzal foglalkozik, hogy ez az elválás mennyire nem volt békés, hogy bár a párt továbbra is a család részének tekintik, a királynőt felháborította a nem kellőképpen egyeztetett lépés.
A hercegi pár most saját weboldalán jelentette be, hogy tavasztól sem Angliában, sem máshol nem használják a védjegyüknek számító SussexRoyal megnevezést. Ez PR-szempontból jelentős csapás lehet, mostanáig ugyanis ez szerepelt a weboldalukon és a több, mint 11 millió követővel rendelkező Instagram-oldalukon is, valamint azt tervezték, hogy így fogják futtatni az elindítani kívánt új jótékonysági alapjukat is.
Ezt most már nem tehetik meg, pedig a legnagyobb brit bulvárújság Daily Mail információi szerint szerették volna. A lap szerint a királynő nem akarta engedélyezni, hogy továbbra is a királyi családra utalva jelenjenek meg a nyilvánosság előtt, mondván, ha lemondtak a dinasztikus kötelességeikről, egyáltalán ne jelenjenek meg így. A hercegi pár némileg indignált hangú közleményekben reagált, melyekben arra utaltak, hogy volt már rá precedens, hogy hasonló visszavonulás után a királyi ház más tagjai továbbra is használhatták a királyi jelzőt, illetve külön kiemelték, hogy Nagy-Britannián kívül nincs törvény, ami ettől eltilthatná őket – de a döntést elfogadják, és Kanadában is lemondanak a SussexRoyal védjegyről.
Hogy ez PR-szempontból mekkora érvégést jelent majd nekik, még vitatott. Azt mindenesetre jelzi a történet, hogy az a „félig bent, félig kint” státusz, amiben reménykedtek, nem működik: a dolgok nagyon abba az irányba mennek, hogy a hercegi pár teljesen kívül reked a királyi családon.

forintos), öt évre szóló alapot is létrehozott elsősorban magas szintű
matematikai kutatási programok támogatására.
London az ausztráliai pontozásos elbíráláshoz hasonló egységes – vagyis az Európai Unióból és az unión kívüli országokból érkezőkre egyformán érvényes – bevándorlási szabályozást kíván életbe léptetni a brit EU-tagság pénteki megszűnése utáni 11 havi átmeneti időszak lejártával. A Global Talent program e szabályozáson belül kínál gyorsított engedélyezési eljárást a magasan képzett szakértőknek.

A Go-Ahead közlekedési társaság buszainak tetejére légszűrő berendezéseket szereltek fel, hogy elnyeljék a káros anyagokat.
A technológiát kipróbálták a cég egyik buszán Southamptonban, és az eredmények szerint 65 gramm – egy teniszlabda súlyú – szennyező anyagot vont ki a levegőből 100 nap alatt.
A buszok ugyan dízellel működnek, de motorjuk Euro-6-os – közölte a cég szóvivője. Nyártól Oxford, Plymouth, Newcastle, Manchester, Crawley és Brighton utcáin fognak járni ilyen zöldbuszok. Southamptonban pedig öt újabb buszt állítanak forgalomba. „A légszűrő rendszer minden várakozásunkat felülmúlt a környezetvédelmet illetően” – idézte David Brownt, a Go-Ahead Csoport vezetőjét a BBC News honlapja. A Go-Ahead Csoport a szigetország egyik legnagyobb közlekedési vállalata, amely ötezer buszt működtet. A buszok tetejére szerelt légszűrő berendezéseket a Pall Aerospace vállalat fejlesztette, amely kereskedelmi és katonai repülők számára is gyárt légszűrő berendezéseket.
