Nem rendezik meg az idén a legnagyobb orosz nemzetközi légibemutatót, a MAKS-ot, az 1993 óta minden második évben megtartott show-t most először halasztják el.
A MAKS – Nemzetközi Légi-és Űrszalon – rendezvényeit minden alkalommal százezrek látogatták meg és állandó vendég volt Vlagyimir Putyin elnök is, aki arra igyekezett felhasználni a kiállítást és légibemutatót, hogy bizonyítsa az orosz polgári és katonai repülőgépgyártás sikerességét.
A szervezők nem közölték, hogy pontosan milyen okok miatt halasztják a júliusra tervezett rendezvényt 2024-re, ám elemzők szerint több oka is van a lemondásnak. Az egyik az, hogy a háborús körülmények miatt nem lehet szavatolni a rendezvény biztonságát, hiszen akár kiváló célpint is lehet az ukrán tüzérség vagy diverzánscsoportok számára a kis helyen összevont nagyszámú orosz katonai repülőgép.
Az is az okok között szerepelhet, hogy míg korábban külföldi üzletemberek ezrei jelentek meg a MAKS-on, most az Ukrajna elleni orosz agresszió miatt bevezetett nemzetközi szankciók hatására jelentősen megcsappanna az érdeklődés, így elmaradnának a remélt üzleti megállapodások. És az sem kizárt, hogy a döntésben az is közrejátszott, hogy a légibemutatón fellépő orosz pilóták egy része jelenleg az ukrán fronton teljesít szolgálatot.

A Velikij Novgorodban rendezett rockfesztiválon félbeszakították az egyik együttes koncertjét, mert a szervezők szerint a dal egyik mondata alkalmas lehet az orosz hadsereg lejáratására.
A cenzúra a Szmena (Változás) nevű csapatra sújtott le, a Háború című dalban ugyanis van egy olyan sor, amely szerint az álmok országában senki sem akar háborút. A szervezők azt mondták, azért hagyatták félbe a zenélést, mert attól tartottak a mondat miatt a hatóságok eljárást indíthatnak a zenészek és a szervezők ellen is a hadsereg lejáratásának a vádjával. A Lenta.ru orosz hírportál szerint egyébként a résztvevők által aláírt szerződésben kikötötték, nem hangozhat el olyan szöveg, amely sérti a katonaságot.
Arra, hogy „az álmok országában senki sem akar háborút” mondat miért jelenti a hadsereg lejáratását, az olvasók nem kaptak választ. A hivatalos orosz propaganda szerint ugyanis az Ukrajna elleni háborút nem Moszkva kezdte, Oroszország csak védekezik a náci ukránok és a „kollektív Nyugat” támadása ellen. Az viszont kiderült, hogy a Szmena tagjai a koncert leállítása után „méltóságteljesen” viselkedtek és nem rontották el a nézők és a többi fellépő napját. (Azaz valószínűleg szó nélkül távoztak és nem kérdőjelezték meg a döntést.)

Nem csak arról, hogy felkészítjük ezen államok űrhajósait, hanem arról is, hogy az együttműködő országok megépíthessék a maguk nemzeti űrmoduljaikat is” – magyarázta Boriszov. Hozzátette: az új orosz űrállomás építése 2024-ben kezdődik meg.
Oroszország korábban az USA-val és az európai államokkal működött együtt a világűrben – közösen használják a Nemzetközi Űrállomást is – ám az együttműködést megsínylette, hogy a nyugati államok az Ukrajna elleni orosz agresszió miatt az űrbeli kooperációt is megnehezítő szankciókat léptettek életbe Moszkva ellen.

A brit Ditchley Alapítványnak tartott előadásában Burns rámutatott, hogy Prigozsin tettei és a Kreml Ukrajna lerohanásának indoklásával szembeni kritikája aláhúzta Putyin háborújának az orosz társadalomra és saját rendszerére gyakorolt maró hatását. Megjegyezte azt is, hogy ez az elégedetlenség egyszeri lehetőséget kínál a CIA számára, hogy kémeket toborozzon.
Július 1-jén William Burns, az amerikai Központi Hírszerző Ügynökség (CIA) igazgatója kifejtette véleményét a Jevgenyij Prigozsin zsoldosvezér által Oroszország ellen vezetett fegyveres lázadásról. Burns kiemelte, hogy ez a felkelés aláhúzza Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök ukrajnai háborújának káros hatását magára Oroszországra.
A CIA igazgatója szerint a lázadásnak hosszú távú hatásai lesznek, és éles emlékeztetőül szolgálnak arra, hogy Putyin háborúja hogyan erodálja saját társadalmát és rendszerét. Prigozsin felkelését „az orosz állam elleni fegyveres kihívásként” jellemezte, de tisztázta, hogy ez Oroszország belügye, amelybe az Egyesült Államok nem avatkozott bele, és továbbra is tartózkodni fog a beavatkozástól.
A zendülés megvitatása mellett Burns kitért az Ukrajnával vívott háborúval kapcsolatos, Oroszországon belüli növekvő elégedetlenségre is.
