A közösségi oldal szerint az ázsiai ország korlátozza a véleményszabadságot. A Twitter kedden jelentette be, hogy pert indít az indiai kormány ellen a véleménynyilvánítás korlátozására tett törekvések miatt.
A pereskedés azután kezdődött meg, hogy a kormányzat arra kötelezte a közösségi platformot, hogy távolítson el különböző bejegyzéseket és profilokat, amelyek megsértették az Indiában érvényben lévő, trágárságra és rágalmazásra vonatkozó törvényeket – számolt be róla a The Verge.
A két fél közötti csatározás tavaly májusban kezdődött meg, amikor India új informatikai szabályozást adott ki az online tartalmakra vonatkozóan, és ezt egy rendőrségi razzia is követte a Twitter indiai irodájában, miután az egyik kormánypárti politikus koronavírusról szóló tweetjét manipulált tartalom címkével látták el – írta a The Verge.
Tavaly júniusban az indiai törvényhozók azzal fenyegették meg Twittert, hogy a felhasználók szabálysértéseiért is a platformot fogják felelősségre vonni.
A közösségi platform már hosszú ideje azzal érvel, hogy ők megfelelnek a helyi véleménynyilvánítás vonatkozó jogszabályoknak, de az indiai trágárságra és lázító beszédre vonatkozó törvényei rendkívül szigorúak. Az országban a véleménynyilvánítási korlátozásokkal próbálják a környezeti problémákról és politikai kérdésekről való párbeszédet a háttérbe szorítani.
A Twitter jogi küzdelmét bonyolítja, hogy Elon Musk megpróbálta felvásárolni a vállalatot. Júniusban Musk ígéretet tett arra, hogy elkötelezetten szeretne kiállni a szólásszabadság mellet, de emellett helyi szabályozásoknak is megfelel majd az oldal működése. Komoly riválisa akadt Bollywoodnak Indiában. A Bollywood egy informális kifejezés, amelyet elsősorban India hindi nyelvű filmiparára használnak, ezenkívül gyártanak filmeket pandzsábi, harjanvi és bihari nyelven is. A feltörekvő rivális pedig a Tollywood nevet kapta, utalva a dél-indiai filmiparra, ahol elsősorban telugu, tamil, kannada és malajálam nyelven készülnek az alkotások.
Tollywood nagyobb, hangosabb és máris több pénzt termel, mint csillogó hindi nyelvű unokatestvére. A dél-indiai filmek új műfaja – epikus, nagy költségvetésű, látványos akciófilmek, tele véres erőszakkal – egyre inkább uralja az ország 24 milliárd dolláros média- és szórakoztatópiacát, ráadásul egyes esetekben Indián túlra is átszivárognak. Bár regionális nyelveken forgatják őket, a szinkronizált változatokat vetítő mozik és a feliratokat kínáló streamingplatformok nézők millióit vonzzák a Bloomberg szerint.
Feltörekvőben Tollywood, még az amerikai kritikusok is dicsérik a filmjeiket
Az egyik legnézettebb film Indiában most az RRR, amely két szabadságharcos történetét meséli el, akik az 1920-as években küzdöttek a brit gyarmatosítókkal.
A The Numbers mozipiaci weboldal szerint a film márciusi megjelenése óta világszerte 150 millió dollár bevételt hozott, a Rolling Stone magazin és néhány más amerikai portál is elismerő kritikákat közölt róla.
Emellett a K.G.F. és a Pushpa-akció című filmsorozatok mintegy 200 millió dollárt hoztak a gyártóknak. Ezek kiugróan magas számok, változást is hozhat a közel 1,4 milliárd lakosú India filmiparában, amely régóta küzd az amerikai és a kínai filmek térnyerésével. Indiában a jegyeladások is kevesebb bevételt hoznak, mint a másik két országban.
Tavaly a teljes jegyeladások mindössze 470 millió dollárt ért tettek ki, szemben a kínai filmpiac 47 milliárd jüanjával (7 milliárd dollár) és a 4,5 milliárd dollárral Hollywoodban.
Mindebből tavaly a tollywoodi filmipar körülbelül 212 millió dollárt keresett, ezzel megelőzve Bollywood 197 millió dolláros bevételét.
Az Ormax Media tanácsadó cég becslései szerint idén már a kasszákba befolyó összeg több mint 50 százalékát a dél-indiai filmek hozzák majd. Anupama Chopra, filmkritikus és a MAMI Mumbai Filmfesztivál igazgatója szerint sikerükhöz hozzájárult, hogy Bollywood elkezdett elnyugatosodni, és inkább a képzett, urbanizált indiai közönségre összpontosít a városokon kívül élő lakosság 70 százalékának kárára.
Még nem sikerült utolérni az amerikai, kínai vagy dél-koreai filmipart
Eközben Tollywood az indiai archetípusnak megfelelő, családi hagyományokat tisztelő filmeket készít, amelyekben a szuperhősök segítségével a tartalmuk túl tud mutatni a helyi nyelvi korlátokon. Bár Chopra arra kéri a gyártókat, hogy csökkentsék a filmekben megnyilvánuló tesztoszteronszintet, és gondolják át a külföldi terjeszkedést, mivel a hagyományos indiai filmek – tele dallal, tánccal, fantasyjelenetekkel, drámával és erőszakkal – nagyon egyediek, és a nyugatiak inkább giccsesnek találják őket. Így annak ellenére, hogy minden évben nagy mennyiségű filmet gyártanak, még nem sikerült utolérniük a dél-koreai tartalmak színvonalát, és a címek sem elég hangzatosak az olyan alkotásokhoz képest, mint a Parasite vagy a Squid Game.

A közel 1,4 milliárdos lakosú Indiában betiltottak néhány egyszer használatos műanyag terméket annak a forgalomból történő fokozatos kivonása érdekében – számolt be az AP.
Az első szakaszban 19 olyan műanyag tárgyat vontak be, amelyek nem túl hasznosak: műanyag poharak, szívószálak stb. Ezen termékek gyártását, importját, tárolását, forgalmazását, illetve értékesítését is megtiltják.
Az egyszer használatos műanyag zacskók egy részét szintén fokozatosan kivonják a forgalomból és környezetbarátabbakra cserélik.
A tilalom nem vonatkozik a vizes vagy üdítős palackokra, illetve a chipses zacskókra. A szövetségi kormány azonban célokat tűzött ki a gyártók felelősségére a használat utáni újrahasznosítás vagy ártalmatlanítás tekintetében.
A műanyaggyártók az inflációra és az esetleges munkahelyek megszűnésére hivatkozva kérték a kormánytól a tilalom elhalasztását, de a kormány a környezetvédelemre hivatkozva ezt megtagadta.

Az indiai külügyminisztérium csütörtökön tette közzé hivatalos oldalán, miszerint India humanitárius segélyszállítmányt küldött Afganisztánba: húszezer tonna búzát, 13 tonna gyógyszert, valamint koronavírus elleni vakcinát és meleg ruhát.
A tájékoztatás szerint India az afgán nép humanitárius szükségleteire válaszul döntött arról, hogy segítséget nyújt. A tárca hangsúlyozta, hogy az ország korábban már több humanitárius segélyszállítmányt küldött. A mostani küldeményben félmillió adag COVID-19 vakcina is szerepel.
A közleményből kiderült, az indiai külügyminisztérium tisztviselőinek egy csoportja jelenleg Kabulban tartózkodik, hogy felügyelje a humanitárius segélyszállítás műveleteit. A küldöttség találkozni fog a tálibok vezető tagjaival is.
A delegáció a látogatás során a humanitárius segélyek szétosztásában részt vevő nemzetközi szervezetek képviselőivel is tárgyal.
A tárca beszámolt arról, hogy egymillió adag indiai gyártású Covaxin oltóanyagot adtak át Iránnak az ott élő afgán menekültek számára. Segítettek az ENSZ gyermekvédelmi szakosított szervezetének, az UNICEF-nek is mintegy 60 millió adag járványos gyermekbénulás elleni vakcinával és 2 tonna gyógyszerrel – tudatta az új-delhi külügyminisztérium.

Áprilisban a napi legmagasabb hőmérséklet átlaga északnyugaton elérte 35,9, Közép-Indiában pedig a 37,78 Celsius-fokot, ami a legmagasabb a mérések kezdete óta. A hőhullám az elkövetkező napokban is folytatódik, sőt még fokozódhat is, Észak-Indiában 50 fokot meghaladó hőmérsékletek várhatók – közölte szombaton Mrutjandzsaj Mohapatra, az indiai meteorológiai szolgálat vezetője. Az ilyen forróság nem számít ritkaságnak Dél-Ázsiában, ám idén szokatlanul korán jött az első hőhullám.
Indiában hagyományosan a május és a június a legforróbb hónap. A tikkasztó hőségben megolvadnak a járdák, sok a rosszullét és a tűz, az iskolák zárva tartanak. A rendkívüli hőség következményei több mint egymilliárd embert fenyegetnek, hívták fel a figyelmet tudósok.
A hőhullám több indiai államban áramhiánnyal párosul, mert a megnövekedett fogyasztás miatt hiány keletkezett a villamosáram előállításához szükséges szénből.
A hatóságok rendkívüli szénszállítmányokkal teli vasúti szerelvényeket indítottak útnak az áramszünetek sújtotta térségekbe. Hőségtől szenved Pakisztán is, ahol, mint azt a klímaváltozási szövetségi miniszter megállapította, évtizedek óta először elmaradt a tavasz, a telet rögtön a nyár váltotta fel.

A legnépszerűbb indiai látványosság, a szerelem szimbólumának számító Tádzs Mahal mását építtette meg feleségének szerelme jeléül egy indiai férfi.
Az eredeti Tádzs Mahal 1632 és 1653 között épült az indiai Agrában, a Dzsamna (Jamuna) folyó partján fehér márványból, a mauzóleumot Sáh Dzsahán mogul sah építtette felesége, Mumtáz Mahal emlékére. A „paloták koronája” – a mogul építészet gyöngyszeme – valójában egy épületkomplexum, amelynek része a fehér síremlék is. 1983 óta szerepel az UNESCO világörökségi listáján, 2007-ben a világ hét új csodája közé választották.
Az eredeti márvány palota méretének egyharmadára kicsinyített épülettel a férfi a szerelem, a harmónia és a büszkeség érzését kívánta közvetíteni a közép-indiai Burhanpur városban, ahol Mumtáz Mahal elhunyt. Sáh Dzsahán mogul sah legkedvesebb felesége, élete szerelme volt Mumtáz Mahal, aki 14. gyereke szülése közben vesztette életét.
A kicsinyített verziót megépíttető férfi felesége azonban él, férjével együtt lakik a kis palotában, amelyben négy hálószoba, egy meditációs szoba és egy könyvtár kapott helyet – írta az India Today című lap. A New Indian Press szerint a férfi építtetett már kórházat és egy iskolát is.
A márványépület olyanokat csábít a városba, akik az eredeti Tádzs Mahalnak otthont adó, 800 kilométerrel távolabbi Agrába nem tudnak elutazni. Esküvői fotózások hátteréül is szívesen használják a házat.

Indiában szeptembertől már gyártják a koronavírus elleni Szputnyik V vakcinát – jelentette be az Oroszországi Közvetlen Befektetési Alap (RFPI), amelynek közleménylét keddi számában ismertette az Izvesztyija című orosz napilap.
Az információ szerint az RFPI az indiai Serum Institute of India (SII) indiai gyógyszeripari vállalattal közösen ősszel kezdi meg a védőoltás gyártását. A gyógyszer első adagját várhatóan már szeptemberben forgalomba hozzák. A vállalat évente több mint 300 millió adag vakcinát fog előállítani.
Kirill Dmitrijev, az RFPI vezérigazgatója hangsúlyozta, hogy az indiai együttműködés fontos stratégiai partnerséget jelent a gyártási kapacitás jelentős növelése érdekében, és példát mutat arra, hogy az erő és a szakértelem egyesítésével életeket menthetnek Indiában és világszerte.
Adar Punavalla, az SII vezérigazgatója hozzátette, hogy örömmel dolgozik együtt az orosz alapokkal. Hozzátette: reméli, hogy a tesztidőszak kezdete után az elkövetkező hónapokban több millió adagra növelhetik a Szputnyik V gyártását. Azt mondta, tekintettel a vírus bizonytalanságára, fontos, hogy a nemzetközi intézmények és a kormányok együttműködjenek a világjárvány elleni további küzdelemben.
A vakcinát kifejlesztő moszkvai Gamaleja kutatóközpontból már eljuttatták az indiai gyógyszeripari vállalathoz a sejt- és vektormintákat.
Az SII a Covid-19 elleni vakcina legnagyobb gyártója a világon, és már most 500 millió adag Szputnyik V előállítására képes. Előállítja ugyanakkor az AstraZeneca és az Oxfordi Egyetem által kifejlesztett Covishield vakcinákat, továbbá az amerikai Novavax által kidolgozott Covovaxot.

Tiltakozott a Twitter a technológiai szektort érintő új indiai szabályozások ellen csütörtökön, és aggályát fejezte ki a helyi rendőrség megfélemlítésen alapuló módszerei miatt – írja a Times of India.

Az indiai rendőrség hétfőn egy nyomozás keretében házkutatást tartott a Twitter újdelhi irodáiban, miután a közösségi oldalon manipulált tartalom címkét kapott a hatalmon lévő Bháratíja Dzsanatá Párt (BJP, Indiai Néppárt) egyik szóvivőjének üzenete.
Szambit Patra egy dokumentumot hozott nyilvánosságra, amelyről azt állította, hogy az ellenzéki Indiai Nemzeti Kongresszushoz köthető, és célja, hogy lejárassa a kormány járványügyi intézkedéseit. Az ellenzéki párt szerint a dokumentum hamis.

A WhatsApp üzenetküldő alkalmazás szerdán bírósághoz fordult a szabályozás miatt, amely szerinte sérti a titoktartásra vonatkozó kötelezettségeit. A WhatsApp azt kifogásolta, hogy az indiai kormány igényt formált a tartalmak lekövethetőségére azokban az esetekben, amikor veszély fenyegeti az ország szuverenitását, nemzetbiztonságát vagy közrendjét.
