A Covid-19 egyik alfaját fedezték fel Franciaországban, amely fertőző, de nem a legrosszabb vírus – adta hírül az NYPOST.
Didier Raoult mikrobiológus, a marseille-i Mediterrán Fertőzés Központ vezetője beszámolt róla, hogy a kutatókórház járványügyi szakértői hét különböző Covid-19 törzset fedeztek fel a nyáron. Az első törzset Észak-Afrikából hozták be, amikor Franciaország júniusban megnyitotta a határait. Ez a fajta már kihalt, bár újabb változatok felbukkantak azóta. Ám van egy másik, gyorsabban terjedő mutáció: a hetedik.
„Valami történik menet közben a vírussal – magyarázta Raoult. – Sokkal gyorsabban terjed, de kevésbé súlyos betegséget okoz, mintha egy legyengültebb változata lenne az eredetinek. Legalábbis jelenlegi tudásunk szerint úgy tűnik…”
Sokan vitatják a kutató felfedezéseit, de az tény, hogy Nizzában, Marseille-ben és Bordeaux-ban új betegséggócok alakultak ki, és újra szigorításokat rendeltek el.
