Elmondása szerint azokat az ukrán állampolgárokat deportálják, akik átestek az ún. „filtrációs táborokon”, melyeket az oroszok által megszállt területeken hoztak létre. Egyes táborokban 20 ezer ukrán állampolgár is tartózkodik.

Ukrajna first ladyje szerint az orosz erők „népirtást” akarnak elkövetni és „meg akarják semmisíteni az ukránokat” – írja Portfolio a brit Sky Newsra hivatkozva.
Olena Zelenszka a Rzeczpospolita című lengyel lapnak adott interjújában azt mondta, hogy a Kreml erőinek ukrajnai akciói egyenesen arra engednek következtetni, hogy Oroszország „el akarja pusztítani” az országot.
Amit az orosz csapatok tesznek Ukrajnában, az közvetlenül arra enged következtetni, hogy az oroszok megpróbálják teljesen megsemmisíteni az ukránokat. Ez az igazi céljuk – mondta az ország első asszonya.
Zelenszka kijelentette, hogy nem a nyilatkozatok, hanem a tettek alapján fogja megítélni az orosz csapatokat, és „mindenkinek azt tanácsolja, hogy ugyanezt tegye”.
Igen, meggyőződésem, hogy az oroszok el akarnak pusztítani minket. Népirtást akarnak elkövetni. És nem számít, hogy mit mondanak, mert a szavaik nem egyeznek a tetteikkel – folytatta.
A first lady azt is elmondta, hogy az ukrajnai háború nem változtatta meg férjét, Volodimir Zelenszkij elnököt, aki mindig is „olyan ember volt, akire lehetett számítani”.

Az ukrajnai háború súlyos körülményekkel fenyegeti az ukrán egészségügyi rendszert, beleértve a kötelező oltások beadásának elmulasztását. Az Egészségügyi Világszervezet (WHO) aggodalommal tölti el az oltással megmenthető betegségek esetleges kitörése, ezért az ukrán Egészségügyi Minisztériummal közösen nagyszabású immunizálási programot hajtanak végre.

A politikusok az emberekre hallgassanak, akik békét akarnak – szorgalmazta Ferenc pápa a Szent Péter téren vasárnap délben mondott beszédében, melyben a húsvétot ünneplő ortodoxokat is köszöntötte.
Ferenc pápa kijelentette, az emberek békét akarnak.
A szokás szerint az apostoli palotának a Szent Péter térre néző ablakából mondott beszéde végén az egyházfő hosszan szólt az ukrajnai háborúról.
A pápa ismételten tűzszünetet szorgalmazott, amit a békére utaló szándék „minimális és kézzel fogható” jelzésének nevezett. A háborús támadások leállítását sürgette a szenvedéstől elgyötört lakosság érdekében.
Az ortodox húsvét alkalmával köszöntötte a keleti egyházaknak az ünnepet most tartó hívőit. „Isten adja nekünk vissza a békét, melyet a barbár háború megsértett” – mondta a katolikus egyházfő.
Hozzátette: „szomorú, hogy (a húsvét) az összes keresztény számára szent és ünnepélyes napjaiban erősebben hallani a fegyverek halálos zaját mint a feltámadást hirdető harangok zúgását, és szomorú hogy a fegyverek egyre inkább átveszik a szavak helyét”.
„Mindannyiatoktól azt kérem, erősítsétek a béke érdekében mondott imákat, és legyen bátorságotok kimondani és kinyilvánítani, hogy a béke lehetséges. A politikai vezetőket arra kérem, hallgassák meg az emberek szavát, akik a békét akarnak, nem a konfliktus növekedését” – mondta a pápa. Szavait mintegy negyven ezren hallgatták a Szent Péter téren a Vatikán közlése szerint.
Ferenc pápa délelőtt a Szent Péter-bazilikában mutatott be misét az isteni irgalmasságnak szentelt vasárnap. Az egyházfő a szertartás nagy részén ülve maradt a napokban kiújult térdfájdalmai miatt.

A háború kezdete óta Ukrajnából már több mint 630 ezer menekült érkezett Magyarországra, a számuk napról napra növekszik – mondta a miniszterelnök belbiztonsági főtanácsadója az M1 aktuális csatornán.
Bakondi György hangsúlyozta: a magyar állam segítséget nyújt az Ukrajnából érkezőknek, ez humanitárius feladat és uniós kötelezettség. Magyarország a Nyugat-Ukrajnában élőket is segíti egészségügyi eszközökkel, élelmiszerrel, ruházattal. Mindez nemzeti összefogást igényel, ennek kialakult a rendszere – tette hozzá.
Úgy fogalmazott: a „háború poklából” valódi menekültek érkeznek, öregek, nők, gyerekek, velük szemben Magyarország teljesíteni fogja kötelezettségeit, akárhányan jöjjenek is.
Kitért arra, hogy az ukrán határszakasszal ellentétben délről – embercsempészek segítségével – ismeretlen identitású fiatal férfiak érkeznek, akik semmibe veszik a magyar és az uniós normákat. Ebből az irányból a magyar határt főleg szírek és afgánok próbálják átlépni – mondta, hozzátéve, hogy különösen az afgánok erőszakosak, agresszívek, bejutásuk az unióba súlyos következményekkel jár.
A déli határon idén már több mint 50 ezer illegális behatolási kísérletet észleltek a hatóságok, ez mintegy kétszerese a 2016-tól tapasztalt „aktivitásnak”, és a próbálkozások száma nő – mondta Bakondi György.

Április 18-án Denisz Monasztirszkij ukrán belügyminiszter találkozott a Borogyankára érkezett külföldi mentőcsapatokkal.
11 profi katasztrófavédelmis érkezett Ukrajnába az USA-bók, Ausztráliából és Németországból, hogy segítsenek az ukrán tűzoltóknak. Hamarosan a csapathoz csatlakozik egy lengyel kolléga is.
„Minden erőt felhalmoztunk annak érdekében, hogy a korábban megszállt területek a lehető leggyorsabban biztonságossá váljanak. Rengeteg dolgunk van, és ez a segítség nagyon fontos számunkra” – közölte Monasztirszkij.
