A magára hagyott táskát Christopher Nocito kalauz fedezte fel, aki leadta a rendőrségen.
Kristin Riker rendőrnyomozó átnézte a táskát, amiben egy határidőnaplót talált, azonban semmi olyat, ami alapján azonosítani tudták volna a tulajdonosát.
„A táska tulajdonosának időpontja volt egy autószerelőhoz, így vele léptem kapcsolatba, így sikerült azonosítani és megtalálni a csomag jogos tulajdonosát” – mondta Riker, aki hiánytalanul visszajuttatta a táska tartalmát gazdájának.

A hírhedt kokainbáró, Pablo Escobar unokaöccse Nicolás Escobar azt állítja, hogy talált 18 millió dollárt a nagybátyja egyik volt búvóhelyén. A kolumbiai médiának arról számolt be a BBC szerint, hogy egy medellíni lakás falában talált rá az irdatlan mennyiségű pénzre.
Azt is elmondta, hogy nem ez volt az első alkalom, hogy pénzt talált Pablo valamelyik búvóhelyén. A férfi arról is beszámolt, hogy sajnos a pénz nagy része megsérült az évek során és használhatatlan. A lakásban, ahol a bankjegyeket találta, öt éve él.
Pablo Escobar hatalma csúcsán egyes számítások szerint a világ hetedik leggazdagabb embere volt, a Forbes listájára többször is felkerült. A vagyonát a drogcsempészettel alapozta meg, a legaktívabb éveiben az Egyesült Államokba szállított kokain mintegy 80 százaléka az ő kartelljétől származott. A drogbáró 1993-ban halt meg egy rendőrökkel folytatott lövöldözés során.
