Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök elítélte Vitalij Sabunyin korrupcióellenes aktivista házának felgyújtását, és felszólította a rendvédelmi szerveket a tettesek gyors megtalálására és felelősségre vonására, ahogy nyilatkozata szerint a Világbank is ugyanezt várja el az ukrán hatóságoktól – adta hírül az ukrán média.
Az államfő szerint a Sabunyint ért incidens is jelzi, hogy az ukrán társadalom nem tud lemondani a nézeteltérések civilizálatlan formában történő rendezési módjáról. Mint kifejtette, minden hasonló eset árnyékot vet az ukrán államra, hatalmi intézményekre és különösen a rendvédelmi szervekre. Sajnos ez egy nagyon rossz kicsengésű történet – idézte az elnököt az rbc.ua hírportál.
Zelenszkij hangsúlyozta, a felelősöket meg kell találni és meg kell büntetni. „Nekünk, társadalomnak, meg kell tanulnunk toleránsan viszonyulni azokhoz, akik a saját álláspontjukat képviselik a vitás kérdésekben” – mutatott rá.
Világbank ukrajnai képviselete – mint az Ukrajinszka Pravda hírportálon olvasható nyilatkozatában leszögezte – csatlakozva az Európai Unióhoz, Nagy-Britanniához és más partnerekhez mély aggodalmát fejezi ki Vitalij Sabunyin korrupcióellenes aktivista házának leégése és a családját ért fenyegetés miatt. „Felszólítjuk az ukrán hatalmi szerveket, biztosítsák az eset elfogulatlan operatív tisztázását, hogy az elkövetők felelősségre legyenek vonva” – áll a dokumentumban, amely szerint a civil társadalom kulcsszerepet játszik a korrupt hivatalnokok büntetlensége elleni harcban.
Mint mi is beszámoltunk róla, ismeretlenek felgyújtották Vitalij Sabunyinnak, a Korrupcióellenes Központ társalapítójának és igazgatósági elnökének a házát csütörtökre virradóra Kijevben. Közösségi oldalán a sértett azt írta, hogy a szomszédja éjjel robbanást hallott és látta, amint lángra kapott a ház. Az aktivista meg van győződve arról, hogy az otthonát felgyújtották.
