A multitipp legmerészebb felvetése azonban minden bizonnyal az volt, hogy ha fáznak, ölelgessék háziállataikat vagy fogyasszanak zabkását.
Arról nem tudni, hogy a szolgáltató bloggerei mennyire szánták humorosnak, illetve komolynak a bejegyzéseket, a tartalommal azonban így is, úgy is aknára léptek. Nagy-Britanniában ugyanis (ahogy Magyarországot kivéve szinte egész Európában) hetek óta nyomasztják a lakosságot a magas energiaszámlák, sok esetben az energiaellátás is akadozik, így az Ovo Energy üzenete felháborodást váltott ki a fogyasztók körében.
A vállalat később közleményben bocsánatot kért és befagyasztotta energiatakarékossági tippeket nyújtó blogját azzal az indokkal, hogy értelmesebb információkkal frissítse azt, ugyanakkor megértésükről is biztosították a fogyasztókat: „Tisztában vagyunk azzal, milyen nehéz lesz a helyzet sok ügyfelünk számára ebben az évben” – írták, és nem túloztak.
Az előrejelzések szerint ugyanis a brit gázszámlák áprilisban akár 50 százalékkal is emelkedhetnek, egy átlagos háztartás pedig éves összevetésben 700 fonttal (kb. 26 ezer hrivnya) fizethet többet a rezsiért 2022-ben.
