II. Erzsébet brit királynő végrendelete nem kerül nyilvánosságra, lepecsételik, és legalább 90 évre széfbe zárják. A hírt a Reuters közölte – írja a Jevropejszka pravda.
Az elhunyt királyi családtagok végrendelete titkosításának gyakorlata 1910-ig nyúlik vissza, a ritkán emlegetett Ferenc texasi herceghez, akinek végrendelete egyike annak a több mint 30-nak, amelyet egy széfben őriznek egy ismeretlen helyen Londonban, bírói felügyelet alatt.
A gyakorlat egészen 2021-ig, Fülöp herceg haláláig nem volt ismert. Fülöp edinburgh-i herceg akarata szintén legalább 90 évig titokban marad, hogy megvédje a királynő „méltóságát” – így döntött a Legfelsőbb Bíróság egy bő százéves egyezményre támaszkodva.
A bíró maga nem látta Fülöp végrendeletét, annak tartalmáról semmit sem közöltek egyelőre, végrehajtási dátum viszont van, illetve a végrehajtó személye is ismert.
A titkosság melletti egyik fő érv az volt, hogy a nyilvánosság megalapozatlan, méltatlan találgatásokra adhat okot a média részéről. A királynő egyébként 125 éves titkosítást szeretett volna elérni. A titkos dokumentumok között nem szerepel Diana hercegné végakarata.

Erzsébet királynő feladatlistája korábban 13 tételt tartalmazott. Többek között a parlament ülésszakaszainak megnyitása, a miniszterelnök kinevezése és az állami szintű látogatások. Jelenleg a konkrét megfogalmazások helyett homályos információk jelentek meg arról, hogy a királynő számos diplomáciai és parlamenti feladatot lát el, valamint fogadja a királyság külföldi vendégeit.
Megjegyzendő, hogy a 96 éves II. Erzsébet szükség szerint látja el feladatait. Konkrét felelősségek helyett a királynőre most általános feladatokat bíznak: az egység és a nemzeti identitás ösztönzése, a sikerek és eredmények elismerése, valamint a polgárok munkájának támogatása – az önkéntesektől a katonaságig.

Az alkalom azért is különleges idén, mert a 96 éves uralkodó a platinajubileumát ünnepli. A Buckingham-palota most arról adott hírt, hogy a királynő döntése értelmében csak a királyi család dolgozó tagjai és a gyerekeik lesznek ott az erkélyen, vagyis sem Harry hercegnek és feleségének, Meghan Markle-nek, sem András hercegnek, a királynő zaklatási ügybe keveredett fiának nem lesz helye az ünneplők között. Az ikonikus erkélymegjelenés ad alkalmat az integetésre és persze a rengeteg fotóra, és ezek szerint a királynő ki akarja hagyni a lehetőségből a családnak meglehetősen sok gondot okozó családtagokat.
A mozgásproblémákkal küzdő királynő több eseményt is lemondott az elmúlt időszakban, és kérdéses, hogy mennyire tudja majd látogatni a jubileumi ünnepségeket. Most annyit tud ígérni a palota, hogy az uralkodó részvételére mindig az utolsó pillanatban fog fény derülni, nyilván az állapota függvényében.
A trónra lépésének a hetvenéves évfordulójáról június 2 és 5 között emlékeznek meg az Egyesült Királyságban.

Az aktív labdarúgástól 2013-ban visszavonult, 115-szörös angol válogatott focista – aki jelenleg az amerikai profi ligában, az MLS-ben szereplő Inter Miami résztulajdonosa – már a 2014-es újévi listára is felkerülhetett volna, akkor azonban kiderült, hogy eljárás folyik ellene a brit adóhatóság (HMRC) részéről. Beckham ugyanis egyike volt azoknak a celebeknek, akik beszálltak egy Ingenious Media nevű, filmfinanszírozásra létrehozott cégbe – csakhogy a HMRC álláspontja szerint a vállalkozás nem másról, mint adóelkerülésről szólt.
Beckham azóta kilépett az Ingenious Mediából, rendezte vitáját az adóhatósággal, így semmi akadálya, hogy felkerüljön a 2022-es júniusi kitüntetési listára.
Beckham 2003-ban már megkapta a Brit Birodalom Rendje (OBE) kitüntetést, ha pedig lovaggá lesz ütve, akkor jár neki a Sir David megszólítás.
