November második felében sokszorosára nőtt a „Hogyan adjuk meg magunkat” kifejezés keresése a Yandex orosz informatikai vállalat keresőjében. November 28-a és december 4-e között 66 ezer alkalommal kerestek rá erre a kifejezésre, ami hathavi rekordnak számít.
A keresések száma november közepe óta ugrott meg, az azt megelőző öt hónapban hetente átlagosan 10 ezer alkalommal kerestek rá a kifejezésre az oroszok. Utoljára májusban lehetett ekkora érdeklődést megfigyelni a témával kapcsolatban.
A keresések növekedésének oka valószínűleg az, hogy több mozgósított orosz katona is visszatért a frontról, és szörnyű tapasztalatokról számolt be. Emellett pedig több videó is elkezdett terjedni az interneten, amelyben a katonák és családtagjaik beszélnek arról, hogy a felkészítettlen katonákat gyakorlatilag feláldozza az orosz hadsereg a csatatéren.
