A világ legidősebb és leghosszabb ideje, 1952 óta regnáló uralkodójának hivatalos születésnapi ceremóniája a színpompás Trooping the Colour. Ezt a tisztelgő katonai parádét mindig júniusban rendezik, jóllehet a valós születésnap II. Erzsébet királynő esetében április 21-re esik.
A rendezvény egyúttal a brit uralkodó trónra lépésének 70. évfordulója alkalmából szervezett négynapos ünnepségsorozat első nagyszabású eseménye is volt.
II. Erzsébet királynő először 1951-ben volt jelen a Trooping the Colour rendezvényén, akkor még hercegnőként, nagybeteg édesapja, VI. György király képviseletében. A következő évben már királynőként őt köszöntötték a felvonuló díszalakulatok, és az uralkodó azóta mindig jelen volt a ceremónián.
A rendezvényt 1955-ben, az akkori országos vasutassztrájk miatt törölték, tavaly és tavalyelőtt pedig a koronavírus-járvány miatt csak igen szűk körben, a királynő windsori rezidenciáján, közönség nélkül tartották meg a parádét. Csütörtökön viszont 1500 katona és 400 fős katonazenekar részvételével, két év kihagyás után újból teljes pompájában, több százezres tömeg jelenlétében megtartották a többórás díszszemlét.
A királynő a korábbi években díszes hintóban utazott a Buckingham-palotából a Trooping the Colour helyszínére, a palotától egy mérföldnyire lévő lovastestőrségi laktanya, a Horse Guards Parade gyakorlóterére. Ezúttal azonban – az udvar indoklása szerint mozgásproblémái miatt – a palotában maradt, és a laktanyánál elsőszülött fia, Károly trónörökös és Károly legidősebb fia, Vilmos herceg képviselte a királynőt.
A parádén az Egyesült Királyság három majdani uralkodója is jelen volt, hiszen Károly és Vilmos mellett Vilmos és felesége, Katalin hercegnő három gyermeke is részt vett az ünnepségen, köztük György herceg, Vilmos és Katalin legidősebb fia, aki édesapja trónra lépése után szintén trónörökösi rangra emelkedik majd. A családtagok közül ugyanakkor most első ízben hiányzott a királynő néhai férje, Fülöp edinburghi herceg, aki tavaly áprilisban, századik születésnapja előtt néhány héttel halt meg.
A díszszemle után a Buckingham-palotánál is díszes őrségváltást tartottak, és ezt II. Erzsébet királynő családtagjai társaságában a palota híres teraszáról tekintette meg, csakúgy, mint a brit királyi légierő (RAF) gépinek tisztelgő átrepülését, amit a többszázezres ünneplő tömeg egetverő üdvrivalgása kísért.

Már hétfőn kezdetét vette Nagy-Britanniában a II. Erzsébet királynő platinajubileumi, vagyis trónra lépésének 70. évfordulóját ünneplő több hónapos rendezvénysorozat. Az uralkodót utcabálokkal, látványos parádékkal és rendkívüli négynapos munkaszünettel is köszöntik.
Két év kihagyás után teljes pompájában tartják meg a királynő hivatalos születésnapját, a Trooping the Colour néven közismert, igen látványos, rendszerint több százezres tömeget vonzó katonai parádét is, amelyet a koronavírus-járvány miatt 2020-ban és tavaly csak igen szűk körben, a királynő windsori rezidenciáján, közönség nélkül rendeztek meg.
A Buckingham-palota által hétfőn ismertetett újabb részletek szerint az ünnepségsorozat egész évben tart majd, de a fő rendezvényeket 2022. június 2-5. között tartják, és az akkori hétvége előtti két napon is munkaszünet lesz. A rendezvénysorozat csúcspontján, egy nagyszabású parádéval összekötött utcabálon ötezer vendég vesz majd részt, de Platinum Party néven lesz egy hatalmas élő koncert is a Buckingham-palota előtt, „a globális szórakoztatóipar legnagyobb sztárjainak” közreműködésével.
A színpompás díszszemlét 1400 katona és 400 fős katonazenekar részvételével tartják majd meg, mégpedig a hagyományoktól eltérően nem egy vasárnapi napon, hanem a négynapos munkaszüneti hétvége első napján, június 2-án, csütörtökön. Az ünnepi programsorozat már hétfőn elkezdődött a platinajubileumi pudingversennyel, amelyen bárki részt vehet.
A Platinum Pudding Competition elnevezésű megmérettetésen a feladat egy minél újszerűbb puding megalkotása. A recepteket világszerte ismert szakértőkből álló zsűri véleményezi majd, a nyertes pudingreceptet megosztják a nyilvánossággal, és az e recept alapján készült pudingot felszolgálják a négynapos munkaszüneti hétvégén rendezendő Big Jubilee Lunch résztvevőinek.
II. Erzsébet királynő 1952. február 6-án, édesapja, VI. György király halálának napján lépett az Egyesült Királyság trónjára, de uralkodása jelesebb évfordulóinak ünnepségeit – például az 1977-es ezüstjubileumot, a 2002-ben tartott aranyjubileumot és a 2012-ben rendezett gyémántjubileumi rendezvényeket – a jobb időjárás reményében június elején tartották.
A királynő közismerten nem tartja illőnek, hogy édesapja halálának évfordulóján ünnepelje az ország az ő trónra lépésének évfordulóját.

Négynapos munkaszünettel, utcabálokkal és látványos parádékkal köszöntik jövőre a brit uralkodót platinajubileumán, vagyis trónra lépésének 70. évfordulóján.
A Buckingham-palota által kedden ismertetett újabb részletek szerint az ünnepségsorozat egész évben tart majd, de a fő rendezvényeket 2022. június 2–5. között tartják, és az akkori hétvége előtti két napon is munkaszünet lesz.
A rendezvénysorozat csúcspontján, egy nagyszabású parádéval összekötött utcabálon ötezer vendég vesz majd részt, de Platinum Party néven lesz egy hatalmas élő koncert is a Buckingham-palota előtt, „a világ legnagyobb sztárjainak” közreműködésével – áll a programtervezetben.
Két év kihagyás után teljes pompájában megtartják a királynő „hivatalos” születésnapját, vagyis a Trooping the Colour néven közismert, igen látványos, rendszerint többszázezres tömegeket vonzó katonai parádét is, amelyet a koronavírus-járvány miatt tavaly és az idén csak igen szűk körben, a királynő windsori rezidenciáján, közönség nélkül rendeztek meg.
A londoni Victoria és Albert Múzeumban tartott keddi tájékoztatás szerint Big Jubilee Lunch címmel lesz emellett platinajubileumi utcai lakoma több ezer résztvevővel a Buckingham-palotához vezető Mall sugárúton, és országszerte is számtalan helyen szerveznek utcabálokat a helyi közösségek számára.
A szervezők tájékoztatása szerint az ünnepségsorozat várhatóan 10-15 millió fontba (4,2-6,2 milliárd forintba) kerül, de ezt teljes egészében vállalati szponzorok és magánadományozók finanszírozzák majd.
II. Erzsébet királynő 1952. február 6-án, édesapja, VI. György király halálának napján lépett az Egyesült Királyság trónjára, de uralkodása jelesebb évfordulóinak ünnepségeit – például az 1977-es ezüstjubileumot, a 2002-ben tartott aranyjubileumot és a 2012-ben rendezett gyémántjubileumi rendezvényeket – a jobb időjárás reményében június elején tartották.
A királynő emellett közismerten nem tartja illőnek, hogy édesapja halálának évfordulóin ünnepelje az ország az ő trónra lépésének évfordulóját.
Az uralkodó jövőre, a platinajubileum évében 96, elsőszülött fia, Károly trónörökös 74 éves lesz.

Viktória, aki 18 évesen került a trónra, 1901-ben bekövetkezett haláláig 23 226 napot, 16 órát és 23 percet, vagyis 63 évet, hét hónapot és három napot töltött a brit trónon.
