Az orosz igazságügyi minisztérium frissítette az „idegen ügynököket” soroló listáját, felkerült rá a Pussy Riot pop-punk aktivistacsoport-zenekar két tagja, Nagyezsda Tolokonnyikova és Nika Nyikulsina, továbbá újságírók és más közszereplők – írja a BBC.
Az „idegen médiaügynököknek” regisztrálniuk kell magukat, hat havonta pedig részletes beszámolót kell benyújtaniuk tevékenységeikről és pénzügyeikről. Minden általuk közzétett tartalom (beleértve a közösségimédia-posztokat) be kell illeszteniük egy hosszú üzenetet, amiben jelezniük kell, hogy „idegen ügynökök”.
A Pussy Riot azt reagálta, hogy bíróságon fellebbezik meg a döntést, a posztjaikat pedig nem fogják felcímkézni.
A Pussy Riot 2012. február 21-én a moszkvai Megváltó Krisztus-székesegyház ikonosztáza előtt csinált performanszot. Az itt előadott dal címe: Szűzanya, zavard el Putyint! (Богородица, Путина прогони!) volt. A performansz, illetve az arról készült videó minden addiginál nagyobb visszhangot kapott, bejárta a világsajtót, és a világ nagy televízióinak szenzációjává vált. A csoport három tagját a helyszínen letartóztatták huliganizmus, valamint vallási gyűlölet szításának vádjával.
2013. december 23-án kiszabadult Nagyezsda Tolokonnyikova és Marija Aljohina, miután a téli olimpiára tekintettel a parlament egy olyan törvényt hozott, amely a kisebb bűncselekmények miatt elítélteket, kiskorúakat és a kisgyermekes anyákat szabadon engedi.
