 Kurz azután tűnt el a nyilvánosságból hetekre, hogy le kellett mondania kancellári posztjáról. A gazdasági és korrupciós ügyekkel foglalkozó osztrák államügyészség (WKStA) október elején házkutatást tartott az ÖVP bécsi központjában, a kancellári hivatalban és a pénzügyminisztérium épületében is. Ennek nyomán kormányválság alakult ki, Kurz pedig néhány nappal később bejelentette lemondását a kancellári tisztségről, majd gyanúsítottként is kihallgatták, írják.
 Hangsúlyozták: a WKStA vesztegetés és hűtlen kezelés gyanúja miatt máig vizsgálódik a kancellár körül: azt próbálják kideríteni, hogy manipulálta-e az ÖVP az Österreich című lapban megjelent közvélemény-kutatási adatokat 2016-ban Kurz érdekében, és közpénzből fedezték-e a megjelentetésüket. Úgy tűnik, a még mindig csak 35 éves exkancellár önéletrajzán még nem hagyott nyomot a korrupció gyanúja. A Kronen Zeitung értesülése szerint ugyanis Amerikában kapott állást. A Szilícium-völgy egyik multijánál lesz menedzser Kurz. Már alá is írta a szerződést és hamarosan költözhet San Franciscoba is, írják.

 A fórumon beszélve Zelenszkij igen nagyra értékelte az ukrán információtechnológiai (IT) szektor teljesítményét. Mint hangsúlyozta, amerikai látogatása idején felkereste a Szilícium-völgyet, ahol szerinte rengeteg az ukrán szakember. Hozzátette: Ukrajnában jelenleg közel 240 ezer IT-szakember dolgozik.
 Az elnök azt mondta: „mi vagyunk Európa legjobbjai az IT-szektort tekintve. Mi ténylegesen Európa digitális fővárosa vagyunk.” Kiemelte: „ahol a számok vannak (IT-ágazat), ott nincs korrupció.”

 Zelenszkij Pavlo Ticsina költőt idézte, aki egykor ezt írta: „Harkiv, Harkiv, hol van a te arcod?” A kérdésre válaszolva az elnök hangsúlyozta: „meg vagyok győződve róla, hogy Harkiv egyébként is rokonszenves arca már néhány éven belül még okosabb, még inkább akaratot sugárzó és még boldogabb lesz.”
