Az Egyesült Államokban folyamatosan nő az iskolai lövöldözések száma, ezért egyre több államban, ma már harmincban engedélyezik, hogy a tanárok fegyvert tartsanak maguknál.
A képzés része egy szimulációs gyakorlat is, amikor azt játsszák el, mi történik, ha fegyveresek rontanak be az iskolába. A tréningen részt vevő egyik tanár, Jessica Ribble azt mondta, bár szokatlan neki a fegyver, az a terve, hogy viszi majd magával az iskolába. Arra a kérdésre, hogy vajon élesben is képes-e meghúzni a ravaszt, azt mondta, ha valaki bejön az épületbe, és a gyerekeit veszélyezteti, képes lesz rá.

Az Oktatási Minisztérium tájékoztatta a tanárokat a 2022. február 24. után kiadott 6500 hrivnya visszafizetésének szükségességéről, melyet az ePidtrimka programon keresztül kaptak.

Philadelphiában sztrájkot hirdetett szombaton a több ezer iskolai dolgozót képviselő szakszervezet egy héttel a tanév megkezdése előtt a tarthatatlan munkakörülményeikre hivatkozva.
A philadelphiai iskolakerület szakszervezetét tagjai arra hatalmazták fel, hogy kezdjen sztrájkot, ha nem sikerül megállapodnia munkaszerződéseik megújításáról. A munkavállalók érdekképviselete elfogadhatatlannak tartja a munkakörülményeket, valamint magasabb béreket, és megfelelő képzési programokat követel tagjai számára.
John Bynum, a szakszervezet elnökhelyettese azzal is vádolta a kerület intézményeit, hogy nem készítették fel a tanárokat arra, hogy miképpen kezeljék az iskolákban kialakuló „súlyos helyzeteket”, ide értve azt is, ha valaki lövöldözni kezd valamelyik iskolában.
A szakszervezet elsősorban iskolai személyzetet – buszvezetőket, takarítókat és egyéb iskolai dolgozókat – képvisel.
A philadelphiai iskolakerület reményét fejezte ki, hogy sikerül megfelelő szerződési feltételekben megállapodni, ami megfelelően értékeli és támogatja a dolgozókat.
Az Egyesült Államok államaiban a következő hetekben kezdődik a tanév, államonként eltérő időpontban. Az iskolák nagy része krónikus munkaerőhiánnyal küzd, részben tanárhiánnyal, de sok buszvezető is hiányzik. Az Egyesült Államokban a gyerekek nagy részét iskolabuszok szállítják a tanintézményekbe és onnan haza – számolt be az MTI.

A tanévkezdés közeledtével feloldották a pedagógusok oltási kötelezettségét, szeptember elsejétől visszatérhetnek az osztálytermekbe a mostanáig oltás nélküli tanárok – közölte a római oktatási minisztérium rendelkezését a Corriere della Sera című napilap vasárnap.
A tárca adatai szerint – a helyettesítő tanárokat is számolva – 3800 pedagógus térhet vissza tanítani. Azokról van szó, akik egészségügyi, lelkiismereti okból vagy más indokból nem vettek fel egyetlen oltást sem.
Az oktatásban dolgozók számára 2021 decemberében vezették be az oltási kötelezettséget. Azóta az oltatlan pedagógusok nem léphettek be az oktatási intézményekbe. Tavalyi adatok szerint több mint 700 ezerre teszik az olaszországi iskolákban oktatók számát.
Csak töredékük nem oltatta be magát.
Antonello Giannelli, az iskolaigazgatók országos szövetségének elnöke emlékeztetett, hogy enyhítésnek számított már az is, hogy a idei érettségi vizsgákon az oltás nélküli tanárok is részt vehettek. Szeptember elsejétől jelen lehetnek a pótvizsgáztatásokon, valamint a tanévet előkészítő tanári értekezleteken is.
Hangsúlyozta, hogy miközben néhány ezer pedagógus nem vette fel az oltást, a diákok között több millió azoknak a száma, akik továbbra is oltatlanok. A több mint 8 millió, 6 és 18 év közötti olasz tanuló számára a tanév szeptember közepétől kezdődik. A pontos időpontot a tartományok határozzák meg.
Az utóbbi három évben ez lesz az első tanév, amikor diákok és tanárok is maszk nélkül térhetnek vissza az osztálytermekbe.
A védőeszköz használata 2020 szeptembere óta kötelező volt az iskolák egész területén. Az omikron variáns újabb hulláma július közepén tetőzött az országban, azóta a járványgörbe folyamatosan lefele ível. Kevesebb tesztet is végeznek: napi kevesebb mint 200 ezret a januári több mint 700 ezerhez képest.

A jelenleg külföldön tartózkodó tanárok többsége idővel hazatérne Ukrajnába. Egy felmérésben megkérdezett tanárok nyolcvanhét százaléka felelt igennel arra a kérdésre, hogy tervez-e visszajönni Ukrajnába. Az is kiderült, hogy tizennégy százalékuk még a tanév kezdete előtt szeretne visszatérni abban az esetben, ha szeptembertől jelenléti oktatás keretén belül taníthat.
A megkérdezettek nagy része azonban csak akkor térne vissza, ha befejeződtek a harcok és stabilizálódott az ország helyzete, vagyis a tanárok tizenegy és fél százaléka még nem fog visszatérni Ukrajnába.
A hazautazás ellen szóló leggyakoribb indok a lakáshiány, a saját családjuk fizikai és mentális egészsége, valamint az alacsony bér. A megkérdezettek másfél százaléka nyilatkozott úgy, hogy a közeljövőben egyáltalán nem tervez visszatérni Ukrajnába, ugyanakkor a hazatérni szándékozó pedagógusok kilencvenhét százaléka nem akar szakmát váltani, s mindössze csak egy százalék nézne új hivatás után.

A törvény támogatói reményüket fejezték ki, hogy csökkenni fognak az iskolai lövöldözések az államban, ha a tanároknál is lesznek fegyverek – írta meg a Reuters. Az Egyesült Államokban folyamatosan az iskolai lövöldözések, ami ellen Joe Biden elnök a fegyverviselést korlátozná az országban. A törvénytervezet ellenzői, többek között a pedagógusok szakszervezete és az állami rendőrtiszti szakszervezet szerint csak fokozzák a problémát, ha szervezetten visznek fegyvereket az iskolákba.
Mike DeWine, Ohio republikánus kormányzója kijelentette, hogy alá fogja írni a törvényjavaslatot.
A javaslatot a héten már elfogadta a republikánus többségű ohiói közgyűlés. A republikánusok szerint ezzel a törvénnyel a tanárok képesek lesznek szembeszállni az iskolai lövöldözőkkel, mielőtt a rendőrség a helyszínre ér.
Egy iskolai lövöldözésben másodperceken is gyerekek élete múlhat – fogalmazott Thomas Hall, a javaslat egyik fő támogatója. A fegyveres tanároknak át kell esniük egy bűnügyi háttérellenőrzésen, majd minden évben egy 8 órás továbbképzést, kiegészítő kurzust kell elvégezniük.
A törvényjavaslat szerint a tankerületeknek értesíteniük kell a szülőket, ha úgy döntenek, hogy fegyveres tanárokat alkalmaznak az iskolákban. A szülők ekkor dönthetnek úgy, hogy fegyvertelen iskolába viszik át a gyermeküket. Arról egyelőre nincs hír, hogy hány iskola fegyverezné fel a pedagógusait a törvény hatálybalépését követően.

A közelmúltban az Oktatási Minisztérium partnerségi megállapodást kötött a Google for Education-nel, melynek révén az ukrán pedagógusoknak 43 ezer laptopot adományoznak. A projektet az Egyesült Nemzetek Nevelésügyi, Tudományos és Kulturális Szervezete (UNESCO) támogatja.
Ezenkívül a tanárok ingyen vehetnek részt a Google képzésein és térítésmentesen használhatják a Workpace for Education egyes funkcióit az év végéig.
