Finnország az utcáról egy múzeumba helyezi át Vlagyimir Iljics Lenin, a Szovjetunió egykori kormányfőjének szobrát.
A délkelet-finnországi Kotkában található szobrot az évek alatt gyakran megrongálták, de fokozott figyelmet kapott Oroszország ukrajnai inváziója óta is. Az emlékművet Kotka testvérvárosa, Tallinn ajándékozta 1979-ben a településnek, és Matti Varikin észt művész faragta, amikor még Észtország a Szovjetunió része volt.
A városi önkormányzathoz benyújtott javaslat szerint a szobor sérti a szovjet háborús bűnökben elesettek emlékét – írta az Independent.
