A határt illegálisan átlépő ukránok nem kaphatnak menekültstátuszt az európai uniós országokban – jelentette ki pénteken Andrij Demcsenko, az Állami Határőrszolgálat sajtószóvivője egy televíziós műsorban, számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint Demcsenko az ukrán televízió non-stop háborús adásának nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy Ukrajna szorosan együttműködik az Európai Unió tagországaival, valamint Moldovával annak érdekében, hogy közösen lépjenek fel az ukránok illegális határátlépési kísérletei ellen.
„Természetesen vannak szökevények, akik azonnal megpróbálnak menekültstátuszt kérni, de szeretném felhívni a figyelmet arra, hogy ez nem ok arra, hogy az ukrán állampolgárokat, az ilyen jogsértőket menekülteknek tekintsék az Európai Unió országaiban” – mondta el Andrij Demcsenko, aki felszólította az illegális határátlépéseket szervezőket, hogy tartózkodjanak ezektől a cselekményektől.
A határőrség sajtószóvivője felidézte, hogyan fulladt a Tiszába Kárpátalján egy bukovinai lakos, miközben a folyót átúszva próbált Romániába menekülni. „Ha ez az ember el is jutott volna Romániába, és nem hal meg, akkor visszaküldték volna Ukrajna területére, és bíróság elé állították volna” – figyelmeztetett Andrij Demcsenko.
