Besz\u00e9d\u00e9ben hangs\u00falyozta: a 20. sz\u00e1zad trag\u00e9di\u00e1i \u2013 mindenekel\u0151tt a m\u00e1sodik vil\u00e1gh\u00e1bor\u00fa \u00e9s az azt k\u00f6vet\u0151 \u00e9vek \u2013 m\u00e1ig meghat\u00e1rozz\u00e1k a k\u00e1rp\u00e1taljai magyars\u00e1g kollekt\u00edv eml\u00e9kezet\u00e9t. \u201eAz \u00e1llami er\u0151szak saj\u00e1t \u00e1llampolg\u00e1rai ellen a t\u00f6rt\u00e9nelem egyik legs\u00f6t\u00e9tebb fejezete. K\u00e1rp\u00e1talja magyarlakta telep\u00fcl\u00e9sein, \u00edgy Beregsz\u00e1szban is, csal\u00e1dok gener\u00e1ci\u00f3i viselik az elhurcol\u00e1sok f\u00e1jdalm\u00e1t\u201d \u2013 fogalmazott. Mint mondta, 1998 fordul\u00f3pont volt a helyi magyars\u00e1g sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra: a v\u00e1laszt\u00e1sok ut\u00e1n l\u00e9trej\u00f6tt magyar t\u00f6bbs\u00e9g\u0171 \u00f6nkorm\u00e1nyzat, Zsup\u00e1n J\u00f3zsef polg\u00e1rmester kezdem\u00e9nyez\u00e9s\u00e9re ekkor indult \u00fajra az eml\u00e9km\u0171 megval\u00f3s\u00edt\u00e1sa. A K\u00e1rp\u00e1taljai Magyar Kultur\u00e1lis Sz\u00f6vets\u00e9g (KMKSZ), a Beregvid\u00e9ki Magyar Kultur\u00e1lis Sz\u00f6vets\u00e9g (BMKSZ) \u00e9s az \u00f6nkorm\u00e1nyzat \u00f6sszefog\u00e1s\u00e1nak eredm\u00e9nyek\u00e9nt 1998-ban megt\u00f6rt\u00e9nt az alapk\u0151let\u00e9tel, egy \u00e9vvel k\u00e9s\u0151bb pedig m\u00e1r fel is avatt\u00e1k az eml\u00e9km\u0171vet, t\u00f6bb tucat t\u00fal\u00e9l\u0151 jelenl\u00e9t\u00e9ben. Kiemelte: a fel\u00faj\u00edtott eml\u00e9km\u0171 ma is a magyar \u00f6sszetartoz\u00e1s jelk\u00e9pe.
