A közeljövőben egy „hivatalos ideológiai” tudományág fog megjelenni az orosz egyetemeken, annak a „tudományos kommunizmusnak” a mintájára, amelyet még a szovjet időkben tanultak az egyetemisták – tudatta két Kreml-közeli forrás és három egyetemi alkalmazott a Meduzával.

A jövő szakembereit képező elnöki egyetem alapítását jelentette be Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök hétfőn az Ukrajna 30. Oktatás és tudomány nemzeti fórum nyitónapján, a felsőoktatási intézmény Kijevben nyílik meg 2023. október 1-jén – adta hírül a korrespondent.net hírportál.
A jelentés szerint az államfő a fórum hallgatósága előtt hangsúlyozta: Ukrajnában elnöki egyetem jön létre, amelyben ingyenes lesz az oktatás, és a végzősök állami tisztségeket töltenek majd be. „Ez a felsőoktatási intézmény a jövő szakembereit fogja képezni, a legjobb tanárokat gyűjti össze, és olyan szakembereket képez majd, akik képesek lesznek fontos állami feladatok megoldására az állam védelme, a jövő kihívásainak való megfelelés érdekében” – tette hozzá.
Zelenszkij elmondása szerint az egyetem az információs és kiberbiztonság, mesterséges intelligencia, nanotechnológiák, aerokozozmikus és biotechnológiák területén képez majd szakembereket. Az egyetemen a diákok ingyen tanulhatnak, a diploma megszerzése után pedig állami tisztségeket töltenek majd be – közölte, jelezve, hogy az elnöki egyetem Kijevben nyílik meg 2023. október 1-jén.

Az amerikai bevándorlási hivatal (ICE) kedden este visszavonta a külföldi diákokra vonatkozó rendeletét, amellyel lehetetlenné tette volna, hogy csakis online kurzusokat tartó felsőoktatási intézményekben tanuljanak.
A döntést annak a bostoni tárgyalásnak az első meghallgatásán jelentették be, amelyet a tekintélyes műegyetem, az MIT és a Harvard Egyetem indított az ICE ellen az intézkedés miatt. Allison Burroughs bíró a videókonferencián lebonyolított meghallgatás kezdetén közölte: a szövetségi bevándorlási hatóságok beleegyeztek a július 6-án kihirdetett intézkedés visszavonásába.
A belbiztonsági minisztériumot és az ICE-t képviselő ügyvéd „korrekt leírásnak” minősítette a bíró megfogalmazását. Sem az ügyvéd, sem a bíró nem közölt további részleteket a bevándorlási hatóságok döntésének okairól.
A bevándorlási hivatal július elején azt jelentette be, hogy külföldi diákok az ősztől nem tanulhatnak tovább olyan egyetemeken, amelyeken a koronavírus-járvány miatt csakis online oktatás folyik. Az érintetteknek vagy el kellett volna hagyniuk az Egyesült Államokat, vagy át kellett volna iratkozniuk személyes oktatást folytató egyetemekre. A döntés érvényes volt a most az Egyesült Államokba érkező külföldi diákokra is, akik nem kaptak volna beutazó diákvízumot, ha a 2020-2021-es tanévre csakis online kurzusokat hirdető egyetemekre jelentkeztek.
A rendelkezés az Egyesült Államokban jelenleg tanuló mintegy egymillió külföldi diákot érintett volna.
Ötvenkilenc felsőoktatási intézmény vasárnap este közös levélben fogalmazta meg és csatolta támogatását a Harvard Egyetem és a massachusettsi MIT korábban benyújtott keresetéhez. Hétfőn délutántól újabb egyetemek és főiskolák csatlakoztak a támogatók leveléhez, és csaknem 200 felsőoktatási intézmény támogatta a Harvard és az MIT keresetét.
