В аукціонному домі заявили, що цей продаж лота встановив «новий рекорд для будь-якої пляшки алкоголю або вина, проданого на аукціоні».
Очікувалося, що пляшка віскі «The Macallan» 1926 року, описаного аукціонним домом як «найцінніший віскі у світі» принесе від 750 000 до 1,2 мільйона фунтів стерлінгів, але її продали аж за 2 187 500 фунтів (2,7 млн доларів США).
Зазначається, що одна з пляшок «Macallan» 1926 року встановила попередній рекорд у 2019 році – її продали за 1,5 мільйона фунтів стерлінгів на тому ж лондонському аукціоні.
