A Twitter amerikai közösségi mikroblog-szolgáltató felfüggesztette Jim Banks, Indiana állam republikánus kongresszusi képviselője hivatalos fiókját, miután bejegyzésében férfiként utalt Rachel Levine-re, az ország első, transznemű négycsillagos katonatisztjére – számolt be hétfőn az amerikai sajtó.







„Az első női négycsillagos katonatiszt címet egy férfi vette át” – olvasható Banks bejegyzésében, amelyet azután írt, hogy a múlt héten Levine-t az Egyesült Államok közegészségügyi szolgálata hivatalos hadteste négycsillagos admirálissá neveztek ki.



„Ha valakit, aki férfinak született és 54 évig férfiként élt, az első női négycsillagos tisztnek nevezünk, az sértés minden kislány számára, aki arról álmodik, hogy egy napon áttöri a láthatatlan akadályokat” – fogalmazott a republikánus politikus egy következő bejegyzésében.



Rachel Levine, a Joe Biden vezette adminisztráció egészségügyi miniszterhelyettese. Az első transznemű, aki az Egyesült Államok szövetségi kormányában magas tisztséget kapott. Az 1957-ben született gyermekgyógyász az élete nagy részét Richard L. Levine néven, férfiként élte le. Két gyermeke is született, majd úgy döntött, hogy nevet és nemet változtat. Országosan akkor híresült el, amikor 2020-ban, a koronavírus-járvány csúcspontja idején, Pennsylvania állam egészségügyi vezetőjeként elrendelte, hogy az idősotthonokban helyezzék el a kórházból elbocsátott, de még nem gyógyult koronavírusos betegeket. Előtte azonban a saját édesanyját kivette az egyik idősotthonból.



A Twitter indoklása szerint a republikánus Banks képviselő bejegyzése gyűlöletkeltő volt, ezért a fiókját felfüggesztették. A közösségi mikroblog-szolgáltató azzal érvelt: szabályzata szerint senki nem népszerűsíthet erőszakot, nem fenyegethet, vagy zaklathat más felhasználókat a nemi identitásuk miatt.



A bejegyzésem ténymegállapítás volt” – írta a politikus a személyes Twitter-oldalán.



„A nagy technológiai vállalatoknak nem kell egyetérteniük velem, de nem kellene kitörölniük sem. Ha elnémítanak engem, elhallgattatják majd önöket is. Nem engedhetjük meg, hogy a nagy techcégek megakadályozzák, hogy kimondjuk az igazságot” – tette hozzá Banks. A republikánus képviselő kijelentette: nem hátrál meg.



„A nagy technológiai vállalatokat elszámoltathatóvá kell tenni” – fogalmazott.

Nagyon aggódunk a közelmúltbeli események, indiai alkalmazottjaink, valamint az általunk kiszolgált emberek szólásszabadságának potenciális fenyegetettsége miatt – írta a közösségi oldal egyik szóvivője. Az indiai rendőrség hétfőn egy nyomozás keretében házkutatást tartott a Twitter újdelhi irodáiban, miután a közösségi oldalon manipulált tartalom címkét kapott a hatalmon lévő Bháratíja Dzsanatá Párt (BJP, Indiai Néppárt) egyik szóvivőjének üzenete.







Szambit Patra egy dokumentumot hozott nyilvánosságra, amelyről azt állította, hogy az ellenzéki Indiai Nemzeti Kongresszushoz köthető, és célja, hogy lejárassa a kormány járványügyi intézkedéseit. Az ellenzéki párt szerint a dokumentum hamis.



A technológiai óriáscégekből nagy felzúdulást kiváltó új szabályozások szerdán léptek életbe.



Ezek értelmében a Twitter is köteles kijelölni egy tisztségviselőt, aki biztosítja, hogy a közösségi oldal tartalmai megfelelnek az indiai törvényeknek, és büntetőjogi felelősséget visel a tartalmakért. A Twitter ehhez három hónap türelmi időt kért az újdelhi kormánytól.



A WhatsApp üzenetküldő alkalmazás szerdán bírósághoz fordult a szabályozás miatt, amely szerinte sérti a titoktartásra vonatkozó kötelezettségeit. A WhatsApp azt kifogásolta, hogy az indiai kormány igényt formált a tartalmak lekövethetőségére azokban az esetekben, amikor veszély fenyegeti az ország szuverenitását, nemzetbiztonságát vagy közrendjét.



Ravi Sankar Praszad indiai technológiai és információs miniszter csütörtökön leszögezte: a kormány elismeri a magánélethez való jogot, és az új szabályozással csak a visszaéléseket akarják megelőzni.

A Facebooknak, a Twitternek és más közösségi hálózatoknak július 1-jéig be kell számolniuk arról, hogy az orosz felhasználóik adatbázisát Oroszországban lokalizálták (ott működő szervereken tárolják) – jelentette ki Milos Vagner, az orosz tömegtájékoztatási és távközlési felügyelet (Roszkomnadzor) helyettes vezetője a hatóság szerdai vezetőségi tanácskozásán.







Vagner szerint a határidő elmulasztása esetén a cégek akár 18 millió rubeles bírságra is számíthatnak. Közölte, hogy a vonatkozó törvény alapján már több mint 600 cég tárolja felhasználóinak személyes adatait Oroszországban.



A Roszkomnadzor áprilisi tájékoztatása szerint a Google, a Twitter, a Facebook és a WhatsApp tulajdonosai május végéig kaptak haladékot arra, hogy válaszoljanak a felhasználói adatbázisok oroszországi lokalizálására vonatkozó korábbi kérésre. Az Apple ennek még 2016-ban, a Microsoft pedig 2019-ben eleget tett, de hasonlóképp járt el az LG, a Samsung, a PayPal, a Booking és mások is.



Vagner elmondta, hogy a Facebookot és a Twittert 2020 februárjában 4 millió rubeles bírsággal sújtották az oroszországi lokalizálás elmulasztása miatt. A Facebook fizetett, a Twitter azonban fellebbezett. A Roszkomnadzor mások mellett felszólította ezt a két vállalatot, hogy tevékenységüket hozzák összhangba a jogszabályokkal, és hogy erről július 1-jéig adjanak részletes tájékoztatást. 



A Facebookot és a Twittert egyébként már 2019-ben megbírságolták, akkor még csak 3-3 ezer rubelre. A közigazgatási törvény 2019 decemberében történt módosítása alapján azonban már 1-18 millió rubellel sújthatók az adatlokalizálási kötelezettség megszegői. A törvény megszegése miatt a LinkedInhez való hozzáférést blokkolták Oroszországban. Az orosz felhasználók adatainak lokalizálásáról a Facebookkal és a Twitterrel 2015 óta tárgyal a Roszkomnadzor.

Sundai Pichai, a Google, Mark Zuckerberg, a Facebook és Jack Dorsey, a Twitter vezetője videokonferencián tájékoztatta a kereskedelmi bizottság tagjait a cégük tevékenységéről, hangsúlyozva, a kommunikációra vonatkozó törvény szerint ők nem vonhatók felelősségre jogi úton harmadik félhez köthető tartalmak publikációja miatt.



Roger Wicker, a szakbizottság republikánus elnöke a szóban forgó törvény mély reformjára szólított fel. A reform a tartalomszolgáltató felelősségét erősítené a tartalmak megjelentetésében és szelektálásában. „Engem az nyugtalanít, hogy ezek a platformok a valóság nagy hatalmú döntőbíráivá váltak” – jegyezte meg.



Leszögezte: amikor a tartalmat moderálják, és ezt a felhasználók nem tudják befolyásolni, akkor az amerikaiak széles tábora kevés információhoz jut a politikai és gazdasági döntéshozatal különböző folyamatairól.



A republikánus szenátorok elsősorban a Twitter vezetőjét ostorozták. Wicker például hangsúlyozta, hogy a mikroblog „rendszeresen cenzúrázza az Egyesült Államok elnökét”. Ted Cruz texasi republikánus szenátor pedig azt a kérdést tette fel Jack Dorseynak, hogy „magukat ki az ördög választotta meg?”. Leszögezte, hogy a Twitter „elnyomja”, azaz cenzúrázza a demokrata párti elnökjelölt, Joe Biden fiáról szóló információkat, amelyek Hunter Biden jövedelmező üzleti ügyeinek korrupciós hátterét és Joe Biden esetleges felelősségét is felvetik.



Mark Zuckerberg, a Facebook elnök-vezérigazgatója készek mutatkozott az érvényben lévő törvény módosítására.



Mint fogalmazott: „úgy gondolom, hogy a kongresszusnak napirendre kellene vennie a törvény megvitatását annak érdekében, hogy az az eredeti céljainak megfelelően működhessék”.

Akkora botrány lett abból, hogy a Twitter letiltotta a Joe Biden kétes ügyeiről szóló feltáró cikk megosztását, hogy azt végül sokkal többen osztották meg, mint ha nem lett volna egy ideig letiltva.



Nagy port kavart nemrég, amikor a Twitter nem engedte megosztani, de még egymásnak elküldeni sem a New York Post feltáró cikkét Joe Bidenről és fiáról, valamint az ukrajnai ügyleteikről. A tech cég ráadásul több ismert személy fiókját is zárolta, amiért meg akarták osztani a cikket, ami a Twitter szerint káros tartalomnak minősült. Az eseten nagyon sokan felháborodtak, aminek hangot is adtak a közösségi felületen.



Most viszont kiderült, hogy a Twitter az önkényes cenzúrázással tulajdonképpen a másik oldal malmára hajtotta a vizet. Miközben meg akarta akadályozni a cikk terjedését, valójában még több megosztást generált a Zignal Labs adatai szerint.



A Post cikkénél ötezer-ötszázról tízezerrel emelkedett a negyedóránkénti megosztások száma, így valójában nem volt olyan jó ötlet a tiltás.



Szerda és vasárnap között több mint 352 ezer alkalommal osztották meg a cikket, ez a szám pedig azóta csak tovább nőtt. Ez az adat viszont valószínűleg nem lett volna ilyen magas, ha nincs az a hatalmas felhajtás körülötte, amit a Twitter cenzúrázása okozott.

A platform nem engedi meg senkinek – köztük politikusoknak sem –, hogy bárkinek a győzelmét nyilvánosságra hozzák a választások hivatalos eredménye előtt. A választási folyamatot befolyásolni próbáló bejegyzéseket pedig eltávolítják. A félrevezető információként megjelölt bejegyzések körét kiterjesztik nemcsak a politikusokra, hanem kampányaik munkatársaira is.



A Twitter vezérigazgatója, Jack Dorsey és a Facebook vezetője, Mark Zuckerberg néhány héten belül a szenátus kereskedelmi bizottsága előtti meghallgatáson vesz részt, hogy számot adjon eddigi üzletpolitikájáról és döntései hátteréről. A szenátusi bizottság azt az 1996-ban hozott törvényt vizsgálja, amely mentességet ad e közösségi platformoknak a publikált tartalmak miatti jogi felelősségre vonás alól.

A TikTok amerikai részlegét a Twitter nevű közösségi oldal vásárolhatja meg, pedig nemrég még arról volt szó, hogy a Microsoft már célegyenesben van és hamarosan lezárhatja az akvizíciót. Amennyiben a Twitter lesz a vásárló, a Facebook és a tulajdonában lévő Instagram egy erős riválist kap – amit egyébként is régóta szorgalmaznak az amerikai döntéshozók.







Donald Trump amerikai elnök augusztus 6-án írta alá azt a rendeletet, amely 45 nap múlva betiltja a TikTok nevű alkalmazást az országban, vagyis ennyi ideje van a cégeknek arra, hogy megállapodjanak a TikTok anyavállalatával, a kínai ByteDance-szel egy esetleges felvásárlásról.



A TikTok a feltételezések szerint komoly nemzetbiztonsági kockázatot rejt azzal, hogy személyes információkat és különböző adatokat gyűjt az amerikai felhasználókról Kína számára.



A TikTok anyacége már jelezte, hogy bíróság elé fogják vinni az ügyet, azonban úgy tűnik, a döntés már végleges, így hamarosan megoldást kell találniuk a problémára, különben 100 millió felhasználót veszít egy szempillantás alatt az alkalmazás, a távozó tinik pedig valószínűleg egy konkurens platformot erősítenek majd.



A Wall Street Journal szerint a Twitter érkezése ellenére továbbra is a Microsoft tűnik a legesélyesebbnek a TikTok megszerzésére. Azonban az újság kiemeli, hogy sokkal kisebb felügyeleti nyomás lenne egy esetleges Twitter-TikTok házasságon, mint ha a Microsoft veszi meg a cég amerikai részlegét.



Viszont a Twitter nem rendelkezik annyi pénzel, mint a Microsoft, hiszen egy sokkal kisebb vállalatról van szó.



A Microsoft ráadásul előrehaladott tárgyalásokat folytat, a vállalat szerint szeptember 15-ig meg lesz a megállapodás, amelynek értelmében hozzájuk kerül a TikTok észak-amerikai, ausztrál és új-zélandi részlege.



Érdemes figyelembe venni azt is, hogy jelenleg a TikTok a Facebook legnagyobb ellenfele a közösségi média piacon, míg a Twitter csak jócskán lemaradva követi őket. Azonban egy esetleges TikTok-Twitter összeolvadás – ha nem is azonos méretű -, de méltó ellenfelet hozna létre a közösségi oldalak versenyében, ez pedig vonzó feltevés lehet a törvényalkotók számára, akik már régóta kifogásolják a Facebook monopolhelyzetét.

durvaságának áldozataként meghalt George Floyd megemlékezéséről szóló
videórészletet.







A kaliforniai székhelyű közösségi médium a döntést azzal
indokolta, hogy a minneapolisi egyetemen felravatalozott Floydra emlékező
ünnepség videójának „szerzői jogai” vannak és „a szerzői jogok tulajdonosának”
kérésére törölték a videót. Közleményében a médiacég leszögezte: „szerzői jogi
politikánk értelmében a szerzői jog tulajdonosa vagy felhatalmazott képviselője
által nálunk bejelentett érvényes szerzői jogi panaszoknak helyet adunk”.



Az ügyvéd, aki benyújtotta a Twitterhez a kifogást, nem
kívánta feltárni, hogy kinek a megbízásából cselekedett.



A videó, amely egy csaknem négyperces összeállítás a több
órán keresztül tartott megemlékezésről, mindazonáltal Trump YouTube-csatornáján
továbbra is látható.



Az amerikai elnök és a Twitter között nem ez az első vitás
ügy. Néhány nappal ezelőtt ez a közösségi platform Trump két bejegyzését is
megjelölte, mint hamis hírt. Az egyik bejegyzés arra hívta fel a figyelmet,
hogy a levélben történő szavazásnak megvannak a veszélyei, és alkalmat adhat a
novemberi elnökválasztáson előforduló esetleges csalásokra. A Twitter – miután
hamis hírként megjelölte a bejegyzést – egy olyan linket adott meg, amely a
köztudomásúan a demokraták mellett elkötelezett CNN hírtelevízió egyik
riportjához vezetett. A közösségi platform a napokban törölte az elnöknek azt a
bejegyzését is, amelyben a tüntetésekre utalva úgy fogalmazott: „amikor a
fosztogatás megkezdődik, a lövöldözés következik”. A Twitter a bejegyzést úgy
értelmezte, mintha az elnök az erőszak mellett tette le volna a voksát.



Egy másik közösségi platform, a Snapchat, hasonló
szabályozással lépett fel Trump ellen, és a napokban eltávolította Trump
fiókját az egyik, új tartalmakat népszerűsítő szekciójából. A moderátor arra
hivatkozott, hogy nem akarja a „rasszista erőszakra” ösztökélő hangokat
felerősíteni.

A koronavírusról posztolgató Twitter-fiókok mögött nem valós személyek, hanem robotok állhatnak – vélekednek a kutatók.







A Carnegie Mellon Egyetem tanulmánya szerint január óra több mint 200 millió bejegyzést tettek közzé a Twitteren a koronavírussal kapcsolatban. Az üzeneteket jobban megvizsgálva azonban az derül ki, hogy a fiókok többsége mögött valószínűleg botok állnak. Azt még korai lenne megmondani, hogy pontosan milyen csoportok állnak a programozott robotok mögött, de az egészen biztos, hogy céljuk a társadalom megosztása. 



A kutatóknak az lett gyanús, hogy nagyon sok fiókot február magasságában hoztak létre, azóta pedig szisztematikusan hamis híreket, rémhíreket, hamis orvosi tanácsokat, összeesküvés-elméleteket terjesztenek, és rendszeresen követelik az amerikai korlátozások feloldását. Ilyen fiókokból indultak el azok az hamis elméletek, miszerint a kórházi képeken próbababákat mutatnak, és hogy az 5G tornyok segítenek a vírus terjedésében, amik aztán ahhoz vezettek, hogy valóban adótornyokat rongáltak meg ismeretlenek. 



A tanulmányon dolgozó szakemberek az előző évek választási, természeti katasztrófái vagy krízisei alapján megpróbálták megbecsülni, mekkora lehet a robotok által posztolt bejegyzések aránya, de messze alulbecsülték a számot. Azokat a felhasználókat keresték, akik többet posztolnak, mint amire egy ember képes lenne, akik rengeteg országban aktívak, vagy ahol egyértelműen látszik, hogy időzített bejegyzésről van szó, ami ráadásul szóról szóra ugyanaz, ami máshol is megjelenik. 



A Twitter szóvivője azt mondta, hogy igyekszenek minél hamarabb reagálni a gyanús tevékenységekre, de önmagában az, ha botok posztolnak, még nem sérti a közösségi oldal felhasználási feltételeit. Ugyanakkor hozzátette, hogy ők is több ezer bejegyzést és felhasználót távolítottak el az utóbbi hónapokban, akik rémhíreket, hamis információkat vagy kártékony üzeneteket tettek közzé. 



A kutatók szerint a legaggasztóbb az, hogy a botok olyan viselkedésmintákat alkalmaznak, amiket nehezebb kiszűrni, mert sokkal kifinomultabbak lettek. Hálózatba kötve a fiókok egymásra hivatkoznak, és több stratégiát is bevetnek arra, hogy kisebbségek vagy bevándorlók elleni üzeneteik köré egész közösséget tudjanak toborozni.
